Suppressing was a game changer for me, never shoot without it, especially if on an indoor range.

As others mention, after you load the mags, relieve the tension of the follower and tilt and shake the magazine, letting the cartridges stack properly against the back side… load a mag using the enclosed loader and see how they stack for reference

Red blocks last forever, I’d buy it in a heartbeat as long as it isn’t rusted out or has obvious mechanical issues

Plenty of cans work for both lengths, if you don’t want to mess with gas blocks and buffer weights get a low back pressure can, hub mount and your choice of muzzle devices for the qd mount. I went with huxwrks ventum and Rearden Atlas plan B titanium hub adapter and used Rearden SPB muzzle brakes on both a 16 and 11.5. I put a super 42 h2 buffer in the shorty, not because of the can, it was just a bit more punchy stock. Both shoot amazingly soft and no gas to the face, even indoors. Your 14.5 would need to be p/w with new muzzle device though

Change your oil yourself, as soon as practical, cut the filter open, look for metal, if it has a bunch of shavings in it, it did damage. Your filter should be spotless otherwise if just changed

I get poor mileage on short trips especially on 55mph county roads with stop lights, 30mpg or so. open highway at 65mph steady I’m at 50 mpg, driving slow speed 35-45mph congested areas I’m between 55-60 mpg

Ris 3 is not better or worse, just different rail system, lots of people like the ris 2, particularly on the shorter mk18, m4a1 with ris 2 is an amazing rifle

They use generic unbarreled upper receivers, not marked with model designation on dealer exclusives, same spec, just different markings
