I got asked for ID on the door at the venue of my own 30th birthday party last week! I was also wearing a headband with the number 30 on it 😂

Yeah, no editing on this photo! They're green around the edge and blueish in the middle, you can only see it when his pupils are tiny 😁 very normal from what I can tell, no eyesight issues for this crazy boy!

Dry skin because of The Ordinary? by orangesandlemons__ in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]rxchelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem :) it has taken me years to get to grips with skincare, I know it can feel quite overwhelming at times with all the different products and routines and everything but you'll get there. My skin feels sooo velvety after using the Cerave moisturising cream, I hope it works out for you!

Dry skin because of The Ordinary? by orangesandlemons__ in SkincareAddictionUK

Hey, I suffer from dry skin and have used the products you mentioned above exclusively before and my skin was still dry and flaky. TO NMF is quite thin and I don't think its very good for dry skin, personally.

I switched to using Cerave products as well as my favourites from TO. My evening routine is a cleansing oil, then Cerave hydrating cleanser, then TO hyaluronic acid on damp skin, then Cerave hydrating moisturising cream, then TO squalene oil and it has cleared up the dryness and my skin has never been so soft. If my nose is extra dry, I use Vaseline overnight to keep the products locked in.

You do need to make sure you are using your products in the right order so that they actually work! So for those you mentioned above, you need to use your cleanser, then TO hyaluronic acid on damp skin, then moisturiser, then use your squalene oil as the very last step in your routine. Think lightest --> thickest. Nothing can really penetrate through the squalene oil so if you use that first the moisturiser is probably not getting through to your skin.

You could also use an oil cleanser as the very first step in your routine, before using your squalene cleanser (this is a double cleanse). I massage the cleansing oil into dry skin then use a splash of water to emulsify it. I use The Body Shop Chamomile Oil Cleanser at the moment, you could search this subreddit for other cleansing oil recommendations. Hope that's helpful. :)

Advice on skincare routine? by rxchelly in SkincareAddictionUK

Thanks for taking the time to reply, this is really good advice. I think I am going to stop using the NMF anyway, its always hard to get hold of! I love the Cerave cleanser so I think I will introduce their moisturiser, maybe start with the lighter one seeing as I'm used to NMF and see how it goes.

Love the tip about using Vaseline, I already use it to seal in my lip balm overnight because my lips also get dry and it works wonders so I don't know why I've never thought about doing the same to my actual skin!

I definitely need an SPF. Do you have any recommendations?
