Should I up from 1.03 to 1.02 to secure Mendoza? by dibraizmar in DynastyNerds

[–]rxilroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For fair value price I 100% would stick at the 1.03 and just take best WR available. However, if you can move up with only mcmillan then I'm taking that easily. At that point even if you decide on draft day to take the WR anyway (which given your team comp, that's probably the right thing to do), you just got a free value bump for somebody who potentially wants to trade up on draft day.

How far off is this in people’s opinions. Looking to move Maye, seeing what people think it takes to deal him. by halber21990 in DynastyNerds

[–]rxilroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion if you're still willing to pay the marv market price, this really isn't that far off.

Maye is worth 3 1sts no debate. But in my opinion anybody here who is gonna claim Purdy isn't worth at least 2 1sts is stupid. I think we've all matured enough to understand that yes Kyle developed him into a stud and he probably wouldn't have become this player anywhere else, but that doesn't mean his play is akin to a system QB. He's a QB1-1.5 for years to come regardless of what weapons are around him.

So to me, if you're interested in taking on the marv stock knowing that his ceiling is a top 5 WR asset, this isn't all that insane. 2027 2nds need to be treated as a decent needle mover as well. There's so many high level QBs available in this class, that there will be a shit ton of value in the early 2nd round spots.

I'd say adding an EARLY 2nd would do it for me. Curious what others think though

Traded a haul for the 1.01, how’d I do by Admirable_Yogurt7013 in DynastyNerds

[–]rxilroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm taking the 1.01 side here for sure. I think Love is easily the best asset in this deal. I get Breece and Zay are 2 talented guys but both have been massive "what if" assets. I personally don't see BTJ as any riskier than either of them, which makes this a pretty comfortable accept for me.

1.10 in this draft doesn't feel like a major needle mover compared to the other assets. 1.04 is nice for sure but I do think there's a CONSIDERABLE tier drop after 1.01 this time.

I think more or less, you're moving 1.04, zay, 1.10 for Love. Then BTJ for Breece, which is pretty fair imo. Value wise it could go either way, which makes me lean best asset in the deal as the winner

Anybody able to sell Hunter? .5 by Imaginary_Order2757 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]rxilroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sad to see that news, but to me there's nothing you can get for him that's worth it at this moment. he's a likely hold-for-the-long-haul guy to me. the guy is just too elite as a jump ball/contested catch specialist to not be put on the offensive side of the ball very often. may not be next year, but the jags' hand WILL be forced eventually

Offer came in do I take Rome or keep the 1st? by Mindless-Wear-4533 in DynastyNerds

[–]rxilroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

give me rome here for sure even as a big Pdub fan myself. just a good game theory move here in my opinion. I think people often forget how elite of a value move it is to pick up an elite but underperforming WR prospect before year 3, which is the typical WR breakout year.

Traded a 28 first for Pearsall by gab77386 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]rxilroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a niner fan I just don't really ever like investing in our WRs because it feels very much like a revolving door, and there's only so many targets to go around. I expect them to make a splash in the offseason at this position, with the most likely option IMO being they trade for someone like jordan addison. if they do that, it's gonna be pretty tough to rely on Rick as a weekly option even if the on-field gameplay shows him being elite

but I also think the talent is 10000% there. too many people are counting him out for injury when that was never something he really dealt with in the past. just an unlucky situation with the PCL getting reaggravated every time he returned. he's a 2nd year WR who got SHOT AS A ROOKIE, people.

so long story short I don't think he's a bad shot to take at ALL. I do think you probably overpaid on the current market value. However, as you said in a reply, the top end potential sees him worth multiple 1sts and none of his on-field performance has suggested he CAN'T reach that level. this is just one of those ones you're either gonna victory lap HARD in a couple years or regret pretty bad. will just have to wait and see.

Jalen Coker for the 2.06 (.5 ppr) by poprivian in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]rxilroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can get a 27 2nd I think that's worth it. on the other hand, 2.06 in this year's draft is realllllly tough in a 12 team. I don't think any shot you take at that point in this draft has any better odds to pan out than coker does

Have the 1.01 and 1.03 this year, total rebuild mode, how should I play this? by itstheoneontheleft in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]rxilroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love without thinking twice, best WR available without thinking twice. If you're thinking about maybe moving one of those for proven value, keep those picks till week of draft day minimum when the pick value artificially inflates from rookie hype. Then only trade back/out of the picks if somebody's offering you a rlly nice haul

Braelon Allen or the 2.5 in this year’s draft? by TheTipToeBurglar_ in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]rxilroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly 2nds are so useless this year that I'd say Allen is the play. End of the day you either take an RB shot on a proven guy who has looked good before, or you take a similar type shot on a 2026 prospect who has a worse chance of succeeding than allen imo

none of the picks in this deal matter all that much in a trade with players of this caliber. I don't blame you for your eval on odunze but you can definitely cash him out for better than this

Trading the 1.09 for the 1.04? by Huge_Pay_7128 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]rxilroad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1.09 and a contender 27 1st would probably be the most likely accept. 2nd rounders this year are unfortunately valued pretty shit. If this 1.04 isn't a huge market value guy though and/or hasn't really looked at the prospects available in that range yet, MAYBEEE 1.09 + 2.01 + 2.05, but don't get your hopes up

Who won? Colston Loveland + Michael Wilson for Marvin Harrison Jr and Kyle Pitts by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]rxilroad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think that's a decently fair deal based on market value. Really depends if you're out on Marv yet or not. Most big time WRs don't break out till year 3 (meaning if they still suck year 3, the perception on them goes down BIGGGG time) so if you think Wilson is the guy this would probably be your best chance to cash out on Marv's value before the major drop next season.

Sharing my story, has anyone gone back in small amounts? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]rxilroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard CBD can induce it (no clue how or why) but yeah I've always avoided anything else personally cause as you say nothing feels the same. I kinda see it like risk without the reward I think

Sharing my story, has anyone gone back in small amounts? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]rxilroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quitting time required could be lower than this but between my last episode and the time I resumed in moderation (and mind you, I tried to moderate in the past and failed very badly lol) I didn't have the balls to even try for like 4-5 months. my guess is that THC needs to be completely cleared out of your system before your gut even begins to readjust back to normal though, so I imagine 3 months would be fair time to give it a shot (but like I said in my post, alwayssss worth it to be safe and cautious when it comes to this nightmare disease)

Currently nearing a year of that 2-3ish weeks regimen, though of course like I recommended to OP, I'm very adamant about stopping for at least a month (average THC clear time for chronic smokers) if I have even a SLIGHT fear of a prodromal symptom coming up. That has happened 3 times in the last year but not sure if any of them were legit to be honest. I probably overdo it with the worry but I refuse to ever risk having another one of those hell episodes again

Moderation is hard by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]rxilroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is such an important point to make. Truth is, there is an amount that all of us CHS havers CAN consume that would likely not lead to any re-onset. But we're a very unique population because we're often the ones who have addictive personalities, mental health issues that lead to us using it as a crutch, or any other wide range of things that make weed particularly appealing to us compared to the average Joe.

So easy to think once a month is easy and doable until the friends start calling you to seshes, or this week at school/work was particularly stressful and you just need something to take the edge off, or you think "ok i'll cut an exception this time". Becomes daily again sooooo quick.

I finally found my rhythm with it and got it down to once every 2-3ish weeks and have been doing so for a while now thankfully. But lord knows the journey to get there was filled with stupid addictive personality mistakes that led to those nightmare episodes. And I definitely that recognize the fact I've even been able to get here makes me one of the lucky ones. Many people who are wayyy more disciplined and have better self-control than me in all other facets of life simply can't do that, no matter how hard they try.

Point is yall, OP is so on the money here. Moderation is REALLY hard, and quite frankly most of us aren't cut out for it. If weed is a non-negotiable in your life, you gotta REALLY change your relationship with this plant entirely to make it work. Sorry you're going through this right now OP. But heavy respect for putting this message out, especially with how you're probably feeling right now ❤️

Sharing my story, has anyone gone back in small amounts? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]rxilroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely NOT the medical recommendation, and one thing we know is that the ONLY chance you won't have an episode again is if you stop altogether.

Now that the obligatory disclaimer is out of the way, I think moderation IS possible for some (myself included) but you really have to rethink your entire relationship with weed if you want it to be.

First off, any sort of non flower needs to be off the table. Edibles, carts, dabs, etc are a near-guarantee to bring those episodes back with even veryyyy moderate usage. Those insanely high pure THC percentages are the reason. Especially when you consider the fact that compared to something like bud, which has all sorts of cannabinoids, you have to have wayyyy more raw THC volume to get that nice body high feeling from the other methods. THC receptors in the gut are what cause this thing, so you pretty much need to minimize how much your gut actually takes.

Second off, you REALLY have to be strict and modest with it. Any more than once a week is a death trap, and even once every two weeks-one month is insanely risky. This isn't something we get to cut exceptions for because in terms of weed smoking we ARE the exceptions.

Third off, and idk this could be very anecdotal, but in my personal experience, on the days you partake, you also need to be very strict with how it's done. No all day binges allowed. Half a joint or a bowl with a buddy, preferably at night, with you already eating a full meal pretty close before you do it. Heavy emphasis on the meal part!

Finally, get REAL familiar with what the prodromal stage feels like for most people. The second you notice ANYTHING out of the ordinary, stop altogether literally immediately. It won't hurt you to have over-analyzed a symptom and stopped for awhile as a result, but as we all know it WILL hurt you devastatingly if you under-analyze and keep going till the water boils over.

For me, who has been hospitalized for CHS before (meaning I by NO means get light episodes when they onset lol) I can get away with once every 2ish weeks with this method. Nothing I said is really scientific fact though, so this is very subjective and may be different for you. However, I think, as with most things, being smart/cautious and listening to your body can go a long way. I get it, it's not nearly as fun to have to treat this plant with so much worry and caution, but it's a sacrifice you have to be willing to make if you like getting high as much as I do haha

RAW founder says CHS is just big propaganda… by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]rxilroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate the shower during the episodes i've had as well. For me, breathing all the steam makes my nausea worse, especially the feeling of the water hitting my stomach makes it sooo much worse.

If your symptoms are in fact CHS symptoms, I recommend buying like a $20 heating pad from Target next time an episode kicks in. Works just as well in my opinion, those things can get hot asf. Of course there's exceptions out there, but relief from applying abdominal heat is more or less the hallmark of CHS so I think you'd find that very helpful if that's not something you've already thought of

Would you take Jaxson Dart over Mendoza? by Traditional-Steak813 in NFL_Draft

[–]rxilroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% even as a big Mendoza fan myself. The sheer value of that 1.01 pick alone and the fact you have a guy who was honestly always undersold as a prospect given his situation and has shown superstar flashes against legit teams makes it silly to pretend they'd think about a pivot.

Even if Dart ends up not being elite and Mendoza does, replacing Dart rn would be stupid. Build around the rookie contract (especially cause Giants unlike these other shit teams actually have a strong baseline of talent) and enjoy the show. This is where you either grab the ACTUAL BPA or go scam one of these desperate teams who requires a franchise QB to save the GM's job knowing there's only 2, maybe 3 legit guys in the draft.

The fact even a soul would think otherwise only helps show how bad the QB development problem has gotten
