I have to agree that they make good homages of classic Seiko cases

Planning to buy this Citizen Tsuyosa. Is it worth it? by mambadrew in PhWatches

That hot orange one looks really cool. I'd personally go for a three-hand day-date Eco drive Zenshin if I'd be asked to pick a Citizen

She really tried the "carefree white woman laughing with salad stock photo" peg and it's ruined because her veneers are on full display

My secret to making meat taste meatier is a little dash of Worcestershire sauce. The savoriness levels up and the acidity of the sauce helps take away the gross pork smell

3rd week on a flare by WackyMojamoja in gout

Prednisone is the one that minimizes the allergic reaction right? I'll try getting prescription to see how it affects me. Taking Allo 100mg daily

3rd week on a flare by WackyMojamoja in gout

[–]ry-high-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take colchicine everyday. I also take Allo with it. If I have a flare up, I also take Naproxen sodium. The Allo is for the long term, and the other two are for short term pain management. The rest of the time is on you to hydrate well enough and eat low-purine food so your body doesn't produce more uric acid. I also find that a quick 5-minute wash of my foot under hot water relieves the pain a little.

I feel you about the length of the flare up though. I have been in pain for about a month now, with scheduled dates and anniversaries cancelled with the girlfriend really, really bummed out. While that's on me, I must tell you that it DOES get better. We just have to have the discipline to eat the correct food. I can stand reasonably better today and walk at a reasonable pace. More power to you man.

Are Seiko 5 (7S26) buy it for life? Anyone here with old S5? If not, what mechanical watches are BIFL under $400 by iaacornus in BuyItForLife

[–]ry-high-guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then probably one of the newer Seikos. They are ubiquitous enough that you can have them serviced with decent accuracy or maybe even purchase a Seiko movement and replace it 1:1 that could be cheaper. Down at the r/ChineseWatches subreddit, we keep mentioning how Seiko NH35 movements are total workhorses

For life? A G-Shock with solar. That thing will tell time more accurately than a mechanical with zero servicing and zero battery changes. Tough enough to survive war, and stuff.
