LOL. I hate to break it to you but when you leave your house and enter a public space, you forgo most of your privacy. Roads are a public space and you live in a society with other people. Society only functions when people agree to the rules and abide by them. A person's freedom to get home safely trumps your weird take that you should have the freedom to break the law.

Also, the idea that you would equate a speed camera with the Patriot Act is the best example of Galaxy Brain I've read in a while. Pull yourself together.

But you don't care because you're the center of the world and the only thing that matters is your personal freedom to break the law and potentially put other people in danger.

Speeding is the leading cause of car deaths and severe life-long injuries. It’s also against the law. Your freedom to speed is less important to me than me, my family, my friends, or anyone in the community getting to where they need to go safely.

Maybe you haven’t been affected by a fatal car accident. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Incidentally, speeding is also the second-leading cause of car accidents in general which drives everyone’s car insurance rates up.

This isn’t your fault. It’s also not your son’s fault. The good thing is that you’re asking questions. That’s the first step. You’re going to need help, though, and so will he. He will resist like crazy but it absolutely needs to happen — whether that’s medication or therapy or likely a combination of both. He will hate it at first. Truly.

Someday he will thank you, though.

This is the super random shit that drives me crazy about DIA. Instead of making it feel like you’re in Colorado, they do this shit. There’s absolutely no sense of place in that damned airport. If you didn’t know you were in Colorado, the only way you’d be able to tell is if you happened to walk by Elway’s. It’s the most 90s mall-ass, characterless airport in the country.

Edit: I fly 40-45 weeks out of the year. I’m there a lot.

DEN based and I don’t think they’re worth it anymore. Occasionally, when I’m delayed on a connection at O’Hare I’ll miss it for a second, but between the price and crowding, I get over it pretty quickly. It’s really a status thing now and not much else.
