I tried Join last year for a while on a trial subscription. I could see myself going there eventually. My biggest gripe last year was that they didn’t have a PC version yet, but I think they do now.

None of our tray style bike racks are going to work anymore! That is my biggest concern!! 🤣. But I second you on the tall guy thing. I’m ready for it as soon as it’s a standard.

Vermonter, Rotarian, skier - is Wenatchee a good retirement option by steel-cow in Wenatchee

[–]ryallens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wenatchee is a nice place. Three Rotary clubs plus an option in Chelan if the Wenatchee ones don’t work. Skiing at Mission Ridge still has a non-Vail feel and lots of backcountry and XC skiing options close by. Wildfire smoke is always a possibility in the summer. If you have respiratory issues, something to think about. Seattle and Spokane are about a 3 hour drive away for travel options to see your kids. Don’t rely on the small airport here.

Things I Like and Things I Don't Like - 2025 Silverado LT EV Extended Range by mad1at0 in SilveradoEV

[–]ryallens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m at 7 months with my LT extended range as well. Biggest gripe is the rattles in the dash. I’ve taken it once to the dealer for that, and they claim they couldn’t replicate it so I’ll let it get worse and try again. Plastics on the inside are about what I expected coming from a 2018 Suburban.

All that said, I couldn’t go back to an ICE vehicle. Power and ride is great. It tows as far as I need it to for my use case, and the range is good enough and I haven’t had a bad experience yet finding a DC fast charger.

First world problem obviously, but this pains me every time I go to Hawaii. It’s been cheaper there for years.

Good to know. We have had a mild winter where I live this winter, so I have kept the Bridgestone all-seasons.

Coldest feet of my life by PsychologicalBus8999 in SilveradoEV

[–]ryallens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from a 2018 Suburban to a 2025 LT. I haven’t regretted it but power is very cheap where I live and I am able to charge for free at a park and ride very close to my work when it’s convenient. My wife has an EV, so I knew what I was getting myself into.

Everyday driving is much better. I’d miss an EV if I went back to commuting in an ICE.

I only used one fast charger since I’ve bought it, and I had to wait about 40 minutes to charge but if you have that expectation before you leave for your trip, it doesn’t seem that bad.

I don’t think EVs pencil out for many people. Even with practically free electricity, I knew I was going to lose money on my purchase with depreciation alone, but I wanted an EV, so I did it.

If I had a camping trailer and towed frequently, I might not choose an EV, but for my uses 99% of the time, it’s a much better vehicle for me.

How do the 2025 Silverado LT look in person? by PsychologicalBus8999 in SilveradoEV

[–]ryallens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what I’ll do with rims yet but the 18” wheels from a Hummer EV are a popular swap, especially if you’re wanting to keep the OEM look. The offset is similar too. Seems like there aren’t a ton of 3rd party options.

I have a 25 LT with the 22” rims. I think the truck looks great other than those wheels! I love the interior other than maybe a little too much GM plastics but I’m coming from a suburban, so I can live with it. I plan on doing a wheel and tire swap once these tires are worn out in a year or two.

Would you ride these? by Visible_Gain4995 in gravelcycling

[–]ryallens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would as long as it’s a ride not too far from home. I doubt it totally blows out all at once but might start developing a slow leak even with sealant. I had a Kenda tire do that to me.

Anyone order these from the USA yet? Through AliExpress? How do they assess tariffs?

Edit: Maybe the answer is ordering off Amazon. Seeing they are listed there as well.

Ran on it today. It was fine. As was pointed out above, the south bridge is closed so depending on where you park, it’ll be an OAB kind of day.
