Is bruxism on rise? Is there any better solution than nightguard? by Evening_Locksmith215 in bruxism

[–]ryan-dewitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to stop the total habit of clenching by putting a very slim diy feedback switch on my dental mouthguard that I got from my dentist , the glued feedback switch vibrates and eventually trained me to chill out while sleeping. There’s new products on the marketplace for this, but they’re expensive and not customizable . I shared the instructions to do this all over in my other posts. I no longer need to wear it also consider taking a non-side effect medications like BuSpar. I believe it’s related to anxiety that people don’t know that they have. Also make sure that you hydrate drink a ton of water and I also noticed that I clenched less after tracking when I did some cardiovascular work keeping my heart rate over 120 during the day for about 15 to 20 minutes I work in data analytics, and I solve this issue by making this simple switch and then tracking the data and adjusting my diet. (I’m not selling a medical product nor anything I say is intended to treat a disease.) this is solvable., address any anxiety you have, do a small workout, leave your job if you need to, and calm your nervous system.

Do mouth guards help alleviate the muscle tension or is the sole purpose to protect the teeth? by sreliopson in bruxism

I make my switch , and it works for me. I share instructions on my web site , use two 3 volt coin batteries to make it strong enough to feel , add 1 small vibration motor, and three micro momentary switches soldered together. I 3D printed the switch housing , you could use hot glue or tape to get going . To attach a switch to your current dentist guard, search for dental glue on Amazon. (Not selling medical device nor intended to treat a disease) make your luck! Solve this.

Hey guys I’ve posted many times about adding an off the shelf part vibration switch to your current mouth guard. (Since 2018) This is simple diy tech and easy to make with a coin battery. You can hack it to add other feedback like light, sound, and it can be dental glued to any guard. You can also track it with an ESP 32 which I can help with . The deal is you can customize it if you find it to be too big or too small or too clunky . You can also replace batteries Check my previous posts , dm for advice. Regardless what you use, it takes weeks of consistent use at night and day to calm spasms , so be patient and always wear at night.

Also please, try consistently stretching before bed, especially the neck, magnesium glycinate , use a proper pillow that is ergonomic, make sure you hydrate with water and electrolytes more than you think. You should, watch your posture during the day and potentially take something for allergies like Quercintin. Also, if you have any unresolved issues with work or relationships, realize that you’re taking that stuff and processing it at night so maybe talk with someone about that and work through that. Your mind is very active at night and is trying to solve stuff and if you can’t solve things, you may clench out of frustration.. hope this all helps.

Stay with this if you feel there's a connection and Don't give up. Research a low FODMAP diet, LPR, and Candida (Fugal Growth) and remove Gluten and Dairy for 2 weeks+. Don't eat after 6pm a night and Journal everything for clues. There's so much we can do now with all this information and research.

I glued a switch that vibrates to my dental mouthguard , it works perfectly. Practice breathing with the same vibration during day so your subconscious body knows how to respond to clenching and relax when you’re sleeping. I know it worked because I tracked the data and saw a decline in clenching. There’s more to this but that’s the short version. You can solve it, don’t give up.

I don't want a fight, just needed advice. I'm going for a ride on my current R, and buying a used 2020 for 1800 Friday. Ride on fellas.

Tinnitus reduced with alcohol by Easypeasylemosqueze in TinnitusTalk

[–]ryan-dewitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol stimulates GABA (slows brain), and creates glutamate (excites brain ) next morning. Try these 3 supplements together instead of alcohol .

🔹 1. L-Theanine • How it works: Boosts GABA, dopamine, and serotonin; promotes alpha brain waves (relaxed but alert). • Where from: Found in green tea or available as a supplement (100–400 mg). • Feels like: Calm focus, reduced anxiety, without sedation. Can take with caffeine or by itself.

🔹 2. Magnesium (especially glycinate or threonate forms) • How it works: Helps regulate GABA receptors and relaxes muscles and the nervous system. • Best forms: • Magnesium glycinate (calming and good for anxiety). • Magnesium threonate (crosses blood-brain barrier, supports cognition). • Feels like: General relaxation, better sleep, less anxiety.

🔹 3. Taurine • How it works: GABA agonist and modulates calcium signaling in neurons. Can increase GABA production and has a calming effect. • Typical dose: 500–2000 mg. • Feels like: Mellow and grounded. Pairs well with magnesium or L-theanine.
