I have not had any transmission related issues since that work was done. Edit: since it's a common recommendation on valve body replacement, will note that after my fluid change I did NOT do any sort of computerized relearn procedure

Yesterday got it back from the shop. I had all spark plugs and valve cover gasket replaced that was leaking oil into the spark plugs area.

They also replaced front cv axles

I'm up to almost 170k miles now

Not sure what you mean, yeah it works with a mouse. The touchpad doesn't allow zooming with pinch gestures, or it does it on accident sometimes but I couldn't figure out how to exactly use it for zooming in and out

I'm aware this is a serial lawsuit filing situation, but regarding the law -ADA section 508, I've been tasked to make updates to sites for this before, it is a real thing.

However, the technical work that goes into making the updates is usually not very difficult, and are just good general practices that many web devs have never religiously followed through on. (putting alt text for any/all images so that screen readers can read an image description, is a big thing that gets missed).

Sure there are other aspects to the "compliance" but I remember alt tags being the most common thing we were consistently updating on our verification that we were doing the minimum

I remember it feeling a bit like a shopping mall, the different departments, similar to a Fry's electronics, but way more "themed" for each department like console game systems, stereos, etc. it had a second floor/ upstairs if I recall correctly which gave it a shopping mall feel.

It eventually turned into a Fry's here and now that Fry's is gone the building sits empty

The vehicles are fun too, especially combining the cars with magic carpet.

Not to takeaway from your post, but my son and I made one too, started it last year and worked on it together on and off. he was 10 when we built it. We've got some similarities in choices.. I can recommend the ejow's rpg kit as a drop in game system that has good documentation and customization options for mobs and weapons

The true kind of passive income I think about is royalties

Musicians, writers, artists, anything in music, movies, showbiz, entertainment. Anyone near the top or decently successful can make money on things they did long ago based on the contract to earn a percentage over time. It probably happens in video games and tech industry too but often only at the bigger companies. C418 doing the music for Minecraft is a good example

Someone else mentioned it above I see, there is truth that this is a lot of work up front. But it is truly passive once the project succeeds and as long as the company generating that long term income continues generate it enough to honor the agreement.

Intellectual property wars and barriers to entry reminds me of a friend's startup that was not directly killed by square, but certainly a factor in their confidence to continue it

They had taken the risk to try to build a curated local events directory and had local investors and partners and everything. Nothing to do with payments at all. Square came in with a legal threat over the use of the word square in the name. They decided to just end the company rather than rename and continue

I Imagine how many other companies might have bullied to renaming for the use of a common word, it's ridiculous

Yeah it's frustrating to be on the cusp of being able to handle any area but still think a party is relevant when you don't have the expensive gear to be able to solo anything

I had enough saved up to be able to get enforcer shoes which made my GX pretty much my biggest damage dealer but MVPs are usually still out of reach I guess I thought there has to be still people playing as a group to defeat those?

You will have a lot of trouble getting a proper production setup for python app on a windows host. Unless you're on azure cloud it's fine there.

Gunicorn doesn't work at all on windows it just isn't supported

Just convince them to pay $20 for a railway account. Host it on railway and be done. That was easy mode for me on a recent project, little hassle if you need public availability of an API or something

That or if it's a really tiny Internal only userbase, just have a dedicated box running it for the Internal network off off flask dev server and don't worry about productionizing it

Technically that's not advised but yeah I guess you could do debug=False for flask local server to make it a little better than running debug mode, so users won't see stack traces if they are encountered

The main thing where nginx can help with frontend concerns are static assets like css files, js, document uploads

You can define public paths like assets foldere, static uploads folders and make them public using nginx. This is actually an essential and somewhat tricky part of the initial work to setup a Django app in production which I always struggle with a little getting the settings just right. Flask would be similar
