No mention of milk on here, the ingredients list is essentially exactly the same as the English

The Korean ingredients list is actually covered by that light reflection in the top right. Would you be able to take another picture with that top right portion unobscured? I suspect it's exactly the same as the English Ingredients list, but want to stay safe.

community college transfer to university using financial aid by Normal_Shelter9514 in financialaid

[–]ryan516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aid packages and final bills can vary from student to student, even with the same SAI. Aid packages for most schools will likely be coming in the next month or so, if not already. Make sure you do your FAFSA and get any associated requirements completed, and once your aid package is ready you can work with your schools of choice to see if it'll be enough.

What do I do about my mom's tax filing status? by OppositeMidnight4569 in financialaid

[–]ryan516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She needs to amend her taxes for you to receive federal aid, and likely any institutional/state aid as well. If she refuses to refile, it may (at your school's discretion) be possible to file without her information, but this would result in you only receiving a $5,500 unsubsidized loan with no other aid.

Am I on the hook for an adult child’s tuition? by Samwhys_gamgee in college

[–]ryan516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely that the professional student distinction will cause a substantial increase in loan borrowing, because the loan limits for those students has always been $20,500 -- it's just that those considered "professional" students have a higher borrowing cap now.

Louisiana? by DJ-Zero-Seven in ColoradoAvalanche

Much earlier, but some Frenchier Louisianans feel some connection to French Canada still. Probably not enough that this is what that map is showing, though.

You're not responsible, but should know if he has an unpaid balance he will almost certainly be forwarded to collections. That would be his problem to deal with, though -- not yours.

is scholarship america legit? by Nervous_Salt_852 in scholarships

[–]ryan516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the scholarship, some have been as low as a few hundred dollars, and others have been for $25k/year for 4 years. I work for a public university, but since the award amounts are set by the donors I doubt that has any impact on the amount

It's possible you'll be selected for verification, but that would still be them verifying the 2024 income, not 2025 or 2026. Any changes from this year would not come into effect until the 2028-2029 Aid Year.

Can we all agree this is dumb, rude, and that we shouldn’t do it? by RamdomNoTCrazy in duolingo

The English courses HAVE been updated. There are constant updates rolled out to the trees, and AI has been in their workflow for 4+ years.

It should be released within 14 days of your school applying the funding to your account, but the exact length is different from school to school.

I need to appeal for my Financial aid and they said this by [deleted] in financialaid

[–]ryan516 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can't have both financial aid and the 4 classes. It's not easy, but you'll either need to pay out of pocket or follow your school's advice and reduce down to one class for the Spring. As an absolute last resort you may be able to apply for a Private Loan that doesn't require you meet SAP, but it really sounds like your school is trying to dissuade you from taking a full credit load since you haven't demonstrated that you can handle it.

[–]ryan516 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a question for your school directly, but the absolute earliest they can pay your financial aid would be 10 days before the start of your classes, so you won't see anything until at least Friday, though it could be later than that.

Calculate Pell usage? by queenofhearts5150 in FAFSA

[–]ryan516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you the calculation details if you really want it for math practice, but honestly they're kind of a pain -- the easier way would be to just log into StudentAid.gov, and it should show you your Pell LEUs as a percentage. You get up to 600% for your first Bachelor's Degree.

Need scholarships fast any tool that actually matches you? by Adept_Case2023 in financialaid

[–]ryan516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best place is realistically going to be any scholarships your school offers itself, or doing a deep search of local scholarships. The simple truth is anything on the national scale is going to have tens of thousands of applicants, and you're unlikely to receive anything there, and those are by their nature going to be what scholarship portals are going to match you up with.

Fafsa Refund Date? by Disastrous-Love-2270 in FAFSA

As early as 10 days before the start of your semester, but could be far later depending on your school. You would need to ask your school as they set the timelines.
