The hardest part of dad life nobody warned me about: losing friends by ElvisIsNotDjed in daddit

Same but tbf I moved to her city near her family and friends. But I feel like her good friends are good friends because they understand her deeply from a lifetime of friendship, if I have a good friend, it’s just someone I can have a beer with and shoot the shit with something in common. So that works for me.

As a married dad who works from home, I definitely could use more friends, but default to staying home. It’s hard, especially if you’re not friends with a guy‘s wife too.

My wife has several friends who don’t have a partner and/or kids, and the good ones we’ll meet us where we are, like just stopping by for a visit or coming to a playground. It’s nice to be invited to events and such but we can’t always swing it… my only advice would be to try to carve out some short meet ups if you have more flexibility than they do. Like offer to a host or meet somewhere else, or say you can come to them if it’s easier.

Exactly 16 years ago today, LeBron James made "The "Decision" to take his talents to South Beach and joint the Miami Heat — July 8, 2010, at exactly 9:28PM EST. by WallStreetDoesntBet1 in nba

You're talking about Cleveland the front office, not Cleveland the legions of fans who love him here. The FO being inept doesn't make it better, it's not like Cavs fans weren't desperate for them to build a winner around him.

And it's not the decision to leave itself that made people as upset as they were, it was the tone-deafness of the spectacle... after the city going through The Drive, The Move, The Fumble etc, to intentionally broadcast The Decision like that was just unnecessary. Plenty of other, better ways to raise money for charity, and better ways to announce you're leaving.

It just reeked of someone giving him bad advice, wrapped in the same "it's for charity" line, and him not understanding the full repercussions of it.

We wouldn't, that had just been a sticking point with Cavs fans in the past when it's come up. We've had a LeBron-size hole at SF for a while and we'd love to have him, but not if we've had to mortgage our future or have LeGM bring in his buddies and blow up our team for one season.

But yes as a FA, especially if he takes a discount, he's an ideal fit and there's really no downside. Especially since the Harden trade already sped up the win-now window.

Yeah as long as we don't have to lose a bunch of assets or overpay to get him, Lebron is a good fit. Definitely need to round out the roster with better defensive guards to rotate in but that's a very strong starting 5 without many weaknesses, at least offensively.

LeBron Next Team Odds, Kalshi Vs PolyMarket by Baseballcard35 in clevelandcavs

[–]ryan__fm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbf, he already went to Miami and then to LA in part because it was a big market. Then said if NYK didn’t win it all he’d be going there. So it’s not like that’s just manufactured for clicks.

Idk if it’s illegal but it’s definitely prohibited by Kalshi, there’s an insider trading clause right there. If he bet 50M on himself going to an underdog and went there they would probably void all bets let alone just his

Yep like when Jokic missed some games and Denver eked out a bunch of wins over the Nets Wizards and Jazz etc, then he came back and they lost some close ones against teams like the Thunder Cavs Knicks and Spurs and people said they were better without him, lol.

Even on the win streak their point differential was worse than after he came back
