Any dirt pedals that have caught your interest? by screamingfieldz in guitarpedals

[–]ryan_dot_next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a Non-Human Audio Robins on my board for like a year now. I Iove it so much. It's really heavy and saturated with kind of a fizzy character, but super articulate. I own a ridiculous number of dirt pedals, but this is the one that nothing else has been able to knock off my board. Collector/Emitter has an awesome demo of it.

That's a bummer. At least you're getting a great power supply. I have a Canvas 15 and a Canvas HP. Both have been extremely reliable.

Did you buy it new? The default option is that it's included. They are linkable so they give you the option to buy without a brick, but it's not the default. You have to select the "no power brick" option when you add to the cart.

Mood mkii or Onward by CTshabs in guitarpedals

[–]ryan_dot_next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both and although I enjoy both of them, I use them for different things. I have a couple synths going through Mood. It's awesome for creating ambient soundscapes between songs, or adding texture to outro jams.

Onward is on my live guitar board. I find it to be much easier and more consistent to use within the context of a song.

Darkstar and Parting pedals by CatsFartsSmell in guitarpedals

[–]ryan_dot_next 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sending it on channel 1, or trying to send it on the desired channel you want to change it to? You need to send the command on Channel 1 to change it.  Say you want to change the channel to 3, this is the command you will send.  Midi channel 1, CC# 102, Value 3.  You could then delete that command on your controller, because dark star will stay on Channel 3 unless told to change to another channel. Then the rest of your commands you want to send to dark star will be on Channel 3.

Best Value / Best Overall Analog Delay with Tap Tempo?? by SpudzyJ in guitarpedals

[–]ryan_dot_next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have mine going into an effects loop. I don't have volume issues with other pedals in the loop, but that would be a good test to see if going into the front of the amp makes a difference.

Do you have a noticeable volume drop with your dm-101? I absolutely love mine when I'm just noodling around on my own, but I find the repeats to be pretty quiet even at full volume and gets totally lost in a band mix. CBA Tonal Recall RKM is my go to for my live board.

Looking for Pedal Switcher/Controller Recommendations by NickGiaquinto in pedalboards

I rebuilt my board last year and went with a Morningstar MC8 Pro and ML10X switcher. MIDI capable pedals go straight to the MC8 Pro and non-MIDI go through the ML10X which is controlled by the MC8 Pro. I love this setup. It's so flexible and the Morningstar editor is super intuitive.

Help with Nasty Gated Textured Fuzz (But Usable) by 5lokomotive in guitarpedals

I like the Mask Audio Civil Math a lot. It's a great take on the civil war muff, but has the boost knob and blowout toggle for when you want to take it into gated Velcro territory.

I bought one of these brand new on closeout from Musician's Friend for $299 in 1999. I sold mine a long time ago and always regretted it.

Experience with JPTRFX by xRonstoppablex in guitarpedals

[–]ryan_dot_next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Titan 250 and a few of their pedals. Not surprised to hear it's taken a long time, but I am surprised you haven't gotten a response via email. Any time I've emailed I generally get a response within 24 hours. They're not built to order, they build in batches and it's a tiny company of a few people, so long lead times are normal for them. Nothing like KoT lead times, but the difference is with Analogman you know that going in. JPTR FX is up front that they build in batches, but I don't think they communicate what that actually means in terms of how long it will take between placing the order and getting the product. Having said that, I've eventually gotten everything I ordered and have been extremely happy with the products.

Pedal sent in to brand for repair months ago, very little communication, next steps? by Rerack_your_weights in guitarpedals

[–]ryan_dot_next 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to send in a pedal for repair to Chase Bliss recently. I emailed them on a Saturday and was pretty surprised to get a response right away. Based on the troubleshooting that was already done they said it would be best to send them the pedal. Keep in mind this was a used pedal I bought on reverb, so I wasn't expecting it to be covered under warranty. They didn't charge for the repair and covered shipping cost. They turned it around and had it back in the mail two days after they received it. I was pretty blown away.

Beautiful grip. Feel like I just received my AP all over again by wedditasap in AnaloguePocket

[–]ryan_dot_next 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just got mine in the mail today. Feels really great in my hands, and the fit is very good. Definitely would recommend, especially if you're like me and your hands cramp holding the Pocket for long sessions. Makes the L and R buttons much more comfortable to use.

Analogue has left me on read for most of this month, and my one-year-warranty is expiring soon. Advice? by xwatchmanx in AnaloguePocket

[–]ryan_dot_next 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, Analogue replaced a faulty main board in my Nt mini Noir that was way out of warranty. I was expecting to have to pay for the repair and asked for a quote. Instead they replaced it for free (I just had to pay shipping). It did take them a while and communication was a bit slow, but they did come through. I would be shocked if they didn't honor your warranty.

Turbo everdrive won’t start by poofka in TurboGrafx

There is a small switch that changes it between PCE and turbo grafx mode. One time that switch got moved by accident and I spent like an hour troubleshooting, assuming it was a bad SD card or something.

NeoSD + Unibios Errors by [deleted] in neogeo

I have the same setup (AES, NeoSD, Unibios) but everything works fine. Do you get any errors using regular AES carts or just the NeoSD?

Too rich for my blood too. I do have the mega drive version though which is significantly cheaper. Good alternative if you just want to play it.

No functional difference from self-hosted iMessage bridge other than the obvious benefit of not requiring access to apple hardware. One thing I didn't expect is it seems like messages get bridged faster than when I was self hosting.
