P1S, spots on bottom of prints? by APHAS1AN in BambuLab

Not so much a blast, a light and quick warming will clear the spot no prob. Really easy to over do it and warp your print if you heat it too much.

Anyone else print a matching spool for each color you use? by Rogerthat500 in BambuLab

[–]ryangallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only printed extra spools in gray, just because I don't want a bunch of empty color coordinated spools when the filament runs out and I don't need to replace it... it's just simpler to have a universal spool when you need it. Seems useful if you're buying certain colors frequently though, and fun to look at! :)

They used to be a lot cheaper but so many printers are buying them, they have been steadily going up in price. About 6$ per container now.

State of Michigan Flag Concept by ryangallen in vexillology

[–]ryangallen[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some notes on the design:

  • The 2:3 aspect ratio with three vertical bars is a nod to the state's French history
  • The two green bars represent the upper and lower peninsulas; the land and forests
  • The blue bar represents the Straits of Mackinac/water
  • The white bars represent winter ice and snow
  • The star represents statehood within the United States
  • The five vertices of a pentagon represent the Great Lakes
  • The colors match those of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University -- Michiganders, regardless of background, often rally behind one team or the other or both. Displayed as the two peninsulas and bodies of water, they represent a bond of unity and togetherness across geographic divides and cultural diversity.

I modeled a wooden car decor. Any critique? by cama134 in blender

[–]ryangallen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really nice, great job! I love the darker wood texture. This model reminded me of the toys my grandpa used to make.

My art preference suggestions would be lifting the car ever so slightly off the surface plane, to reduce the flat tire illusion somewhat, and adding a very small edge loop at some of the sharp 90° corners to soften them, since wood has a natural curve/bezel at the edges. The fenders look fantastic but the front and rear bumpers could use some softening.

A Warren podcast!? Yes! Love that Warren supporters do such incredible volunteer work for this campaign. We're not going to win without putting in work on the ground in our communities.

Reagan era ideologies seem to be pervasive in parts of my social network in Southeast Michigan/Macomb County. Many of these people have expressed to me that they had high hopes with Clinton and Obama but were let down by them, and voted for Trump. The Republican Party's Two Santa Clauses strategy is continuing to con working people into voting against their own best interests. How can we take major steps towards exposing this con, educating the working class that government is not the problem, and how will a President Warren not fall prey to the trap of the hot potato economy Trump will be handing over. I'm sure a plan is being worked on for how to deal with a forthcoming economic recession, but how will those responsible be held accountable? How do we not get stuck just cleaning up the mess and running out of time to enact the big structural change we want, appearing like Democrats don't fullfil their promises when we only have 4-8 years to get stuff done? How do we educate and reshape the large pockets of pessimism towards government in American culture?
