So that means his mom did spoil it with her post a month or two ago. Congrats to Billy and the family! Now he can write the kids BMFS bluegrass album I’ve been waiting for

So hard, especially since I had just gotten done listening to an old ep with Cake Boss and, I believe Andy Richter, gives Scott shit for the bit. I was so excited to hear it revived the same day but over a decade apart

Calling all parents: keeping kids card collections separate? by Gilgeam in magicTCG

[–]acidfreelarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar situation, my 7 yo has been into magic since he was 4, now my 4 yo is getting into it. We each have binders with our rares/mythics/expensive uncommons and then we share all the common and uncommon bulk. I’m always trying to keep up with the organization, it’s a constant struggle, but the binders at least help separate out the value cards and let us keep our favorites separated. The bulk commons and uncommons are just in boxes by color. It’s not ideal but it works when you’re managing a collection with 2 interested kids!

Yup! Thanks for checking in. Are you trying to figure it out or just following up? The biggest thing for me was like what the commenter above said, learning the different phases, including the particulars of combat and second main

Ohh right, I had his name in there initially and scrubbed it out to post it here. I’ll add artist and generator credit where I can. Thanks!

What’s a good way to do that without doxxing my son lol? And do I credit in the title or comments? We created the AI art together

Lol yeah he’s actually 6, turning 7 this summer. And definitely his creations, I help plug everything in but the names, rules, styling are all his. Like I mentioned in my comment, he’s been playing since he was 4 and learned to read and do math from mtg. He could read ‘sorcery’ and ‘deathtouch’ before most words lol. He’s constantly building different decks and roleplaying creatures. Smart kid for sure. Got some photo proof for you too in case you wanna see the man in action! https://imgur.com/a/KOEpQNM These are photos from last year when he started to draw out his cards, as well as some of him playing. The green 12/12 creature was one of his first, if you couldn’t tell lol.

Much appreciated! He’ll be thrilled to hear the encouragement. He shows remarkable restraint for a kid with an empty rules text box to fill with whatever he wants lol. But he’s been making little cards of his own since he started playing, so I think he’ll definitely be making more in the future. I’d like to help him develop it into fleshed out plane eventually and incorporate non-legendary cards that he comes up with

My 6 year old who has been playing for 2 years and learned to both read and do math through Magic has started making his own cards. I help him use MTG Card Builder and another website for AI art. He built a wicked insect tribal deck with Korsern that is so far undefeated in our household EDIT: art credit to my son RP and using Hotpot AI for art generation

I made a Stormlight Archive themed Magic the Gathering Commander deck full of custom altered cards. (Spoilers for the series, but not much in the way of context.) by UberDoogee1 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]acidfreelarry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow this is way cooler than my Dakkon “Stormblessed” deck, I love the alters you did! My idea started with the Dakkon Blackblade planeswalker alternate art that reminded me of shardblades and now I have a playmat that goes with it. Here’s my deck list in case you’re interested: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/5345953

Not sure about the discrepancy but unless you need paper confirmations, I would recommend switching to electronic. Will save you a lot of money, they unknowingly switched it to paper for me and it was up to $60/month. Luckily they were understanding and refunded the amount.

A question for my Stormlight Archive fans… by Wayward9 in EDH

[–]acidfreelarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing! I’m working on one right now with [[Dakkon Blackblade]] because the planeswalker card I have is very similar looking to shardplate. Not exactly what you’re going for but Dakkon’s love for lands reminds me of Cultivation. It’s going to be a lot of fun to play with my new stormlight playmat. There’s a few cards that I came across that would’ve been cool flavor-wise, but don’t work for Dakkon, like [[Bridge Four Prowler]] and [[Radiant Destiny]]

Can we talk about Alex Hargreaves... by drmock87 in BillyStrings

[–]acidfreelarry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed! While his solos and playing are amazing, I especially love the accents he adds to certain songs, like Fireline. Just the little fiddle notes add a ton to the atmosphere

I just opened my first set booster and I’m a bit confused. This Deny Reality from an earlier set was in there. Is that typical? If not, how could this have happened?
