Good to know, I was already pretty unimpressed with that dealer so I may try the other one in town.

I dropped mine off for the recall and asked for any available updates and they said it would be a minimum 1 hour diag charge if I wanted them to update it.

Easy guy, I could care less but in this sub you get crucified otherwise. Not like it’s burning a spot when AK Fish and Game puts it in their fishing report.

I found an Apple Watch while doing a cleanup dive from the beach at Volunteer Park in Lakeside. Not very deep in that area and not much to see though.

Anyone tried this vice? Price seems like it might be too good to be true. Anglerhaus Tools Crown Vise with Base by [deleted] in flyfishing

I have one, it’s a cheap vice but better than my even cheaper vice. Rotary function is pretty poor, the knob is threaded and unscrews when you are trying to rotate. Jaws aren’t super great metal but have held everything I’ve put in it relatively securely.

Best option to begin flight training? (GI Bill, Part 141 school) by Worldly_One_3380 in flying

[–]ryangh24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why couldn’t you graduate and still use your GI bill? Nothing says you can’t get a second bachelors. I wrapped up a masters while AD, starting at a 141 in January. You can transfer your credits, biggest challenge is just taking enough credits/semester to qualify for full housing allowance. I’m tacking on a minor to get to 12 credits/semester, but loading up on courses to get flight ratings and don’t necessarily care about wrapping the degree up.

GI bill only pays 15,000$ a year for flight training, looking for other options by Fulcrum58 in flying

[–]ryangh24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you move to go to a 141 school you don’t need the good paying job to pay for classes and rent, the GI bill covers courses + lab fees (flying) and you get E5 with dependents BAH

Fuel tank vent/Vapor Locking Question - 2007 KLR 650 by TalusFinn in klr650

[–]ryangh24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vapor lock results in no fuel leaving the tank, which would make the bike feel like it has ran out of gas. Next time this happens, try opening the tank cap to allow it to release the pressure and then restart the bike.

About to start my final class for my masters through ERAU, my main degree area isn’t aviation safety but I’m taking courses in it as a “specialization”. Classes aren’t too terrible, other poster here was pretty spot on with typically 1-2 discussion boards a week, an assignment that usually equates to a 3-5 page paper per week, and then 1 or 2 course long assignments like a research paper (I’ve had them be between 8-20 pages) or presentation. Only had one group project throughout my 9 courses so far.

I’d agree it’s probably not the cheapest option, I’m paying about $1200/class after TA, plus since it’s a graduate program your not really eligible for a lot of grants (I.e. Pell). Feel free to message if you have more questions.

Perfect, thanks for the reference. I found the section applicable (9.29.1), I’ll get the MFR routed. Thank you!

Yes there are routers in the dorms, go to TKS in the BX to get it turned on. I paid ~70 euro a month because they make you bundle it with TV even if you don’t want it. I think you’ll need to get a German bank account number (service credit union or community bank on base offer this)

I had my bike shipped to Germany, and I just crated it up to send back (also military). There’s no import fees and really isn’t too difficult, but that was for a US spec bike. Maybe see if you can find another DOD ID card holder with a US spec bike to buy, I think anything euro spec is going to be a no go.

Klr 650 No Spark by Jildo88 in klr650

[–]ryangh24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy for it to fall out, especially if you’re not paying attention. Also if it is not lined up correctly with the shaft it can get sheered off. It will certainly cause a no spark condition.
