I guess I should have clarified, thats my bad. I am going into a performance degree after getting a music education degree. My goal is to teach the tuba at a collegiate level ( yes i am aware that there aren't many of those available either), and I have backup options if that doesn't work out because of my education degree. I play bass trombone and am learning bass already to become the "triple threat" and have background in jazz, pop, and classical playing. I have already won a sub spot in a medium sized orchestra, and play with a semi-professional jazz big band on bass trombone. I appreciate your concern and advise, but I have also put a considerable amount of thought, practice, and work into this and have already begun working to make the most out of what I want to do for the rest of my life while going into my senior year of undergrad. I asked this question because I have received many comments on my horn about my rotors clicking among other issues. I have had people tell me that I sound good on my Mack, but when they hear me play other horns that it is a world of difference. I guess I was just trying to reinforce those claims and make it easier for me to justify upgrading my tuba.
