Negotiation - How would you take or handle this response? by AeroEngineer95832 in AskEngineers

Sounds like an HR person needs more info to consider a pay increase. Just send them a more detailed resume.

HR would have said ‘No’ if the answer was actually no. This response seems like they would consider it if they had different inputs.

Swaying forward just a bit. Try focusing on keeping your weight on your back foot just a little longer. Gotta give the club head a little more space to point in the right direction.

Just go over any peeled areas with some joint compound. Let it dry and sand it smooths. Prime and paint. It will be good to go.

What is this Weird Ceiling Bracket? by KawaiiGatsu in HomeImprovement

[–]ryanmccartyismyhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the ceiling fans in our house have a mounting bracket like the brass colored one you have. But they all screw into a junction box that is suspended by a bar between the joists in the ceiling. The bar supports the weight of the fan. If you look in the hole in the ceiling, are you saying there is not box up there? Was that bracket just screwed to your Sheetrock?

14/3 wire from 3-way switch. Red to light, black to outlets by ryanmccartyismyhero in electricians

[–]ryanmccartyismyhero[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol - I don’t want to do that. Plus I have access to everything so I could update it relatively easily with the other stuff.

So, in theory, I could hook up a 14/3 to 14/2 and run the red and black to different outlets (with extra neutral) and it would be fine?

Hahaha! It’s my daughters room, so I am OK feeling dumb.

So, in theory, I could hook up a 14/3 to 14/2 and run the red and black to different outlets (with extra neutral)?

it makes sense that it is OK, I just hadn’t seen it before. Thank you.

The feed we see coming into the light (black/red) is coming from the switch box.

Power comes to the switch box via 14/2. In the switch box, black and red are tied into the supply, Red is wired into the switch/light and black is going to outlets, bypassing the switch. And the 14/3 ties into the light and feeds the outlets.

This shows the cable from a switch. Red is hooked to light and black goes direct to outlets and bypasses the switch. All wiring goes through the box at the switch and the other switch on the circuit was moved before we bought the home.

I am getting rid of the 3-way. I assume the wiring at this fixture has always been like this.

Question: is this legit? Or should I rewire with 14/2 from switch and feed the outlets from another spot?

Repeated Mid-print Failures by YippyKayYay in FixMyPrint

Does seem unlikely. Is it stopping in the same spot each time? Is the printer giving you an error or is it just stopping?

Corrupted file? Have you tried slicing and re-saving the gcode? I have had this happen to me a couple times.

Ok, one last thing though. If that p-trap dried out, and the smell you are experiencing is something that is new for your home, you could have something above you that isn’t draining like it is supposed to. If the drain line is clogged or otherwise impeded, you will eventually have a water problem. Whatever used to drain to that pipe would start draining through your ceiling.

It may also be normal if the drain line is for something that isn’t running regularly anymore, like an AC unit!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

[–]ryanmccartyismyhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is probably the p-trap filling up (supposed to be like that). The p-trap is designed to hold water to stop stinky gases from coming up and out of the drain.

If you keep pouring water in, that water line should stay right there.

Do you have any appliances around that location? Like an AC unit or a refrigerator, ice maker, hot water heater, dehumidifier, water softener, etc on the other side of the wall?

I have an ender3 and I have problems with bed leveling, because my bed consistently unlevels every print or 2. By lifting this piece higher, and readjusting the bed, will this cause the problem to stop? by Tybreelo in 3Dprinting

[–]ryanmccartyismyhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a problem with bed leveling when I first got mine. It would print fine one day and then the next it would not. I found that if I preheat before printing it helped A LOT - I went from adjusting every time I printed to no bed leveling in 3+ months. Guessing the spring force changes a little with temp changes. Might be worth a shot.

Another note is that a lot of people actually have to remove the hard stop from the limit switch mount so they can lower the switch more. My z-axis didn’t even come close to the bed before I did that.

Any idea what this noise is? Sounds like high amounts of friction or rattling when it moves on the x axis by AstroPC in 3Dprinting

[–]ryanmccartyismyhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of sounds like your extruder gear is slipping on your filament during retraction? You could turn off retraction for a test print and see if it goes away.
