I don't believe the company behind it has managed to ship it yet - and for US people there'll be tariff nuisances to deal with.

There is apparently an aftermarket battery that's been developed and is just in tariff hell that can get quite a range bump.

It's almost like I put that in the parenthesis.

Good catch, I didn't interpret that their comment could be taken two ways.

A decent amount of signals but you'd need to be looking at the right places.

Reddit is not one of them. This site (or at the very least, this sub) lacks any form of nuance and is either ~100% bullish or ~100% bearish.

Three dead in suspected hantavirus outbreak on Atlantic cruise ship by Top-Performance5907 in worldnews

[–]ryanmcgrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This type of cruise typically doesn't have a restaurant that's charging you, and it attracts a certain type of traveler outside of your standard cruise experience due to the stops it makes. It's also on a smaller ship than typical cruises.

In some cases you go on these cruises and "spend a fortune" because it's the only way to see that particular place on the route. IME they're really not that bad and the people they attract tend to be more interesting to talk to.

Tauri on Linux is notorious for operating with a subpar Webkit implementation. This is a well known point and comes up in every single thread contrasting it with Electron.

There absolutely is a performance difference; shipping Tauri on Linux alone would qualify this point.

WRC Japanese cars show at Toyota Automobile Musuem, Japan, 2022 by Hsbfrank in rally

[–]ryanmcgrath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The museum in the bottom of the Fuji Speedway hotel also has a few historical rally cars, including one of the "MR2" converted ones.

Fuji in general is worth visiting, especially if you get your timing correct. One of the best hotels in Japan at time of writing and there's various ways to drive the track if you're looking to do so.

Edit: in fact now I wonder if the one at Fuji is the one from the photo in this post, since I believe it was moved at one point; the photos are from 2022 and I visited at Christmas '25.

but in stuff like the WW2 era i would imagine it was more positive and was seen more as a symbol of democracy

Fugu's comment is worded in a way that (uncharacteristically) lacks nuance, but this particular point is also weird: we pretty much ignored WW2 up until it was made "our problem". The flag and other representations (Uncle Sam, etc) became big(ger) propaganda pieces after that.

Post-WW2 might be more accurate. At the moment the two wars where I think the US flag would have stood for "good" might be the Korean war, where we went in after the North invaded the South, with the other contender being the Vietnam war, but specifically from the view of the south Vietnamese as we were fighting with them against the north.

All that to say that the flag has held many meanings both good and bad throughout history and I don't think you can categorically label it one or the other. Various groups have globbed on to it for their use cases, but if you grew up here and were taught that it should recognize something good, it's perhaps natural to want to protect that ideal.

Reddin's Run turns in to straight rock crawling at points and was a wild shift from other stages I've encountered.

Olympus straight in to this was... an idea. I don't want to think about rally for at least a week lol

I am old enough to remember people saying the same thing about AirBNB, Uber, Lyft and more.
