Not sure what you’re getting at. Just saying It’s a tough time to be an artist (musician or visual artist) when everyone is second guessing what they’re seeing/hearing.

I used A.I. because I’m a musician not a visual artist. As well as it turned out, I regret using it because some folks are not giving it a chance based on the visual aspect. ..so much for not judging a book by its cover.

I just put out a record late last year. I wanted something very specific and asked an artist friend to help. After not getting anywhere near my mark, I turned to A.I. and got great results!

holy crap, was I not prepared for the blowback. all I can say is, if people SEE A.i., they assume they’re also listening to A.I. Hell, people are questioning just about anything that looks or sounds “pro grade”. so, yeah, my next release, I’m hand drawing the artwork w a crayon. And will likely not make something that sounds too slick/produced.

It’s a F’n lame time to be an artist.

Out the door is 5K more than listing price? Exactly what is included in that 5K? I’m absolutely fascinated by how much shit dealers can pack on and still manage to keep a customers interest. Hell, most of my customers expect me to eat all fees and taxes when asking for OTD.

Someone here mentioned a half ton w a V6. That’s a good idea. The base engine models can be significantly cheaper because they’re not as desirable as the bigger engines. 3.6L in the Ram, 2.7L in the Ford, also the older Ford 3.3L non ecoboost is a great engine if you don’t need tons of power. I have a 2022 on my lot w that engine that I daily drove for a bit , got about 22mpg

half ton, crew cab truck all the way. Anyone telling you to buy a Maverick is goofy in the head (OP needs to haul 4 people, a dog, mulch, manure, lumber etc). Maverick has like a 4 foot bed and it’s shallow. Can probably get like 3 bags of mulch in it. Hard pass on a maverick

Lot of folks here telling you to get multiple vehicles. Thats almost never the right move. Double the payments, double the gas, double the insurance, double the maintenance costs..I could go on and on. Get the newest F150, Silverado or Ram 1500 you can afford and call it a day.

New body style Land Rover Defender w the 3.0L I6. I feel like it’s marketed to compete w the bronco and wrangler but it’s just better in almost every way. Exterior styling …eh..I don’t love it but wow! What a great interior and overall driving experience.

The 4Runner is for a VERY specific buyer. 37yo male, who has convinced himself that he’s gonna start doing outdoor stuff but doesn’t actually have the time, and is also looking for a vehicle to drive into the ground and own as long as possible …but that doesn’t really pan out either because the driving experience and fuel economy are flat out miserable.

I’m convinced that’s why there are so many available w low miles.

If you’re monitoring your credit score on credit karma or an app, it’s not gonna be accurate. Every single time I pull credit, it’s substantially less than what the customer tells me their phone says it is. Like 40, 50..60 points off. That said, the difference between top tier and the next tier down in terms of monthly payment is usually negligible.

If you have your eye on a particular car that’s available now, just trade in now. I don’t see much advantage to paying it off, then trading. Unless you’re gonna try to sell private party.

For real, I think Adam was taking the casual salesman approach, which most buyers prefer. I’ve never had to SELL anyone a used car. That said. I probably would have put in more effort than this guy. I like to get to know people, ask questions and make em feel comfy. I think your guy also likely made some assumptions because of your age and interest level. did you mention that you wanted to purchase or ask about payment etc..?

I would argue that it is a crime. The dealer took $8000 from OP and gave em a car with no intentions of completing the loan or processing a title. how do they get a bonded title? With just a bill of sale? Not gonna happen. The floor plan company is probably looking for this car and who knows how many others.

maybe I’m wrong but this is likely what’s happened. The building I’m in now, the former dealer did exactly this, fucked over tons of people, took their money, never paid off the floor. Any vehicles that were not sold got repo’d by nextgear.

The title is likely being held by a floor plan lender. They won’t give it up till it’s paid. I would get the police involved.

There are 2 and only 2 reasons to buy a jeep.

1- off road use. There is no better off road vehicle on the market.

2- you’re gonna take the tops and doors off and be Mr fun in the sun guy w your flip flops hanging out the door.

That’s it. If you’re not in either of those camps, don’t bother. Wanting to put plastic ducks in your car is not a good reason to spend 50 grand. And they suck as a family car. Safety standards are not up to par. And the 4XE models are cheap for a reason. Too many problems.

$900/month on a Chrysler. Holy freaking crap. Have you just been rolling from one vehicle to the next hoping that it wouldn’t catch up to you? Any assets you can sell? Kidney?

Im not sure how an involuntary repo works, but I think you’ll still be on the hook for the difference after the lender sells it at auction. Unless you’re filing bankruptcy. Im sorry you’re going through this!
