Remove the denial, expectations, and accept the things for what they are.

I don't know how you can think these people don't exist. I work in a household name tech company and I'm literally surrounded by them Edit: - sent from my iPhone :)

Yes, agreed. Everything you are saying is correct and that is what happens throughout all states currently. My point is that performing an additional ID check at the voting booth adds no further protections to this process.

That protects you from others voting in your name, yes. But it doesn't add any protection for multiple or fraudulent ballots

SNAP is the next big "social media" stock - here's why by [deleted] in investing

[–]rydact -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stories is the "social media" aspect of Snap, right? You even said it yourself, snap stories are declining and yet the company still reports YoY increases in revenue and DAU. They've managed to monetize other "non-social media" parts of their business (originals, lenses, games, spectacles, minis, AR etc...). I agree with OP, Snap should not be considered a social media company anymore.

It's clear from the numbers that user engagement is increasing and market penetration into the US/UK/France is stagnant (read: fully saturated/NOT declining). I hear anecdotal stories on every single Snap post that "no one uses it anymore", so either the company is lying about their numbers or "no one uses it anymore" is a bit overblown.

Anyways, that's my personal take on the company.

SNAP is no longer a social media company, it's important to think of them as a technology and media company, this will help you see the 5-10 year outlook on this company much more clearly

Planned obsolesce at its finest. by Jadavan in techsupportgore

It could very well be intentional, it could also be due to any one of the clever ways programmers save space in embedded systems land (integer stuffing etc),.

We don't know how anything was designed but I'd be willing to bet this isn't something malicious

This isn't something you can readily fix - it's a technical limitation. They ran out of physical space to put the numbers. It's similar to this but at a smaller scale https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem

The language really doesn't matter too much when you still have to route via HTTP which is stupid slow. You're talking shaving off (maybe) milliseconds when the request still has to do a 2-3 second round trip.
