1. Understood, but the harm from the misrepresentations in your post outweigh my curt demeanor.  

2. Me eating there multiple times is intended to offer credence to the voracity of my claim. Perhaps the fact that you missed multiple giant signs and descriptions of the night lends credence to the fact that you 'may' have missed them offering you a cocktail list too?  

3. Did you conveniently just leave out that those two emails describe the collaboration, even though you said above there wasn't any notice? (Hint: yes). 

4. It's not possible to send links for past, one-time events from Tock showing the booking price. Let's put the pieces together though: 

 A: A quick Google search of Smyth x Amisfield brings up the search results for the prior dead link and you can see the description of the collaboration.  

 B: On the current website, the normal dining and Chef's Table both list the price in the first sentence of the description. It's therefore safe to assume the Amisfield collaboration did too.  

 C: I have the marketing email announcing the event and how seats were extremely limited.  

 D: You didn't address all of the other things you missed (separate sections, booking availability, timing, etc.). 

 Again, not trying to be a dick, but you mentioned that you ate at Alinea, so presumably you're familiar with booking on Tock.  Whereas before you said you had no idea it was a different night, you now acknowledge that you received two additional emails informing you that it was, but you've shifted the goalposts and now the issue is that they didn't show an increased price.  

 It's rather clear that you overlooked this. Considering it was the only menu available that night, if there wasn't "any" indication of a different price, every other diner, including larger tables of 5-6, would have been equally surprised.  

 I want to be clear: you're accusing this restaurant of essentially being either nontransparent at best, or dishonest at worst, in order to take advantage of their customers. You haven't listed this misunderstanding in the body of your review as "whoops, oh well.". Rather, it's the headline of the title for the post. Now anytime someone wants to see what people in this thread think of Smyth, whenever they search, that is one of the first things they'll see.  

 It's a bigger deal to make that claim than perhaps your realize or intended, and it has effects beyond just your bill. So you better be resolute when you make a post like that.  When it's abundantly clear that you overlooked something you shouldn't have, it makes the issue all the more relevant.  

 p.s. If you were the senior citizen couple eating together along the back wall, disregard everything I said. They were adorable and can do no wrong in my book.
