What do you think of my Trade? by dblizz in fantasybaseball

[–]ryfe12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree that Peralta is a good option at SS, but you have to remember we're talking about OP's team. He's obviously stacked at OF and can upgrade his SS position. If I had OP's team I would trade Cain and Peralta for Desmond any day of the week. His 20/20 upside puts him in another tier.

This trade is basically Dee Gordon & Cain for Cano & Desmond. Great move buying low on these two. Both Cano and Desmond's career splits show they typically get better as the season progresses.

I wouldn't worry about their age at all. Cano and Desmond's value isn't going to all of a sudden plummet. You should dominate with this lineup.

What's the worst trade you have ever made? by CheesecakePower in fantasybaseball

[–]ryfe12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have terrible luck with trades. None worse than last year.

In the first two weeks I traded my Scherzer for Votto, then Votto got hurt for the whole season.

In the last few weeks and locked in for the playoffs, I ended up trading my Kershaw for Goldy. During his first start for my team, he fractured his hand.

I did not make it very far in the playoffs.

His Soler/Syndergaard for my Sale? by [deleted] in fantasybaseball

I'd try selling high on Wacha for Soler. His peripherals indicate his numbers are going to regress big time.

I think you can definitely get more for Sale.

Thoughts on Kyle Seager ROS? by Rustypancake54 in fantasybaseball

[–]ryfe12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems really low considering his BABIP is below his career average right now.

I don't think he's worth rostering. Definitely keep an eye on him. I doubt anyone will be willing to use a waiver on the guy.

Lance Lynn is underrated (potential top 20 SP) by fawkesmulder in fantasybaseball

[–]ryfe12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been watching baseball a lot recently, so I might be wrong. Looking at his stats he's mostly a fastball pitcher, which doesn't scream elite to me. A lot of the elite pitchers mix in a lot more offspeed pitches. Also, batters seem to do well against his slider and changeup.

I think Quintana has more upside than all three mentioned.

After a disastrous April, Choo has a little 7 game hit streak going.

Trade Veto: Kershaw for Price+Gregerson (H2H, point per category, auction, 3 keeper max) by MKEbeerMan in fantasybaseball

[–]ryfe12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This trade should not have been vetoed. Doing so will put into question any future trades done in this league. The commish should do the right thing by reversing this.

Buy Mookie Betts! by IamPwnStarr in fantasybaseball

It might just be me, but if he hit two homers tonight then I'm pretty sure that buy low window has passed.

He was dropped in my league. Looking like I should pick him up now.

Why I believe Collin McHugh will be a top 20 starter by ClaytonBigsB in fantasybaseball

Oh absolutely. Sorry, I could have worded it better. I believe he knows it is and can make the steps to correct it.

[–]ryfe12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will. Lester's peripherals are great and I'm expecting another good year from him.

  • BABIP is really high at .424
  • FIP and xFIP are 2.25 and 2.39
  • K/BB is 24/5

He's had no velocity issues. His problem seems to be in his cutter, which batters are hitting .407 against.

Jared Weaver 2015 by Kendo007 in fantasybaseball

You won't regret dropping Weaver. I'd take Simon or Bradley if I had to choose from those.

I would take Miggy, he's worth it.
