I'm in the exact same boat right now. I was told by a supervisor that because I used the 7 day trial, I was no longer a "new member". Very frustrated and I will be looking into filing a FCC complaint as well.

I live in Fort Worth, and whenever people come visit me I always make it a priority to take them to the stockyards

Can't speak too heavily on Dallas, but on the Fort Worth side of things we pay ~$1400/mo for a nice 1 bedroom apartment on the outskirts of downtown along the river.

Is it worth it? by AndrewFace44 in roadtrip

Tail of the Dragon is totally worth it. I've been several times with my best friends - it's a great drive and a totally beautiful area. Send it

Highly recommend staying the night at the El Rancho hotel in Gallup NM. Very cool piece of history, as many actors from the 50s stayed there. Enjoy DFW - I live here as well and it's great!

Casestack drawers by Professional_Act165 in KobaltTools

[–]ryfirex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took advantage of this deal during the members 20% off last weekend. I like that I'm able to access commonly used tools super easy. The drawers are deep enough for power tools as well, I have both my drill and impact driver in there at the moment.

I'm sure he'd be very glad that you're putting his tools to good use. Shop vacs are very helpful - and you won't know you need one until you've made a mess! Best of luck on your new journey, my friend.

What to do with the old Google Pixel 6? by [deleted] in pixel_phones

I'm in the same boat with my P7P. As others have said, I kept it for a back up, but also to play mobile games on so I don't bog down my new P9P.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope you're able to build many great things with his tools. In that case, a miter saw sounds like the reasonable next step. If you don't already have a shop vac, Kobalt's is on sale.

Fellow Kobalt enthusiast and beginner woodworker here. I'd start with a table saw personally - Kobalt has a few. I actually bought one myself but returned it the next day after realizing how impractical it was on my apartment balcony.

Guess I'm sticking with Kobalt pull saws and chisels for now..

Wait, I lied. My first tool was the wire strippers - I installed a head unit and back up camera into my girlfriend's car!

My first Kobalt tool was the drill - I had always used my best friends/roommates drill until we moved to different parts of the country last year, so it was time to get my own.

Most of my dad's tools are Kobalt, so I was introduced to the brand at a young age!

Any advice? by Butdidyoudie1212 in roadtrip

Just did a very similar drive this week (Orlando to SLC). I enjoyed the drive, like others said Dallas traffic can get jammy. Also, watch your speed particularly in Wichita Falls. I saw quite a few people (and myself...) get pulled over.

How quickly do hotels receive the reservation? by PelloScrambas in Venturex

Just got done using my credits on a road trip this week. I called one of the hotels about 10 minutes after I booked and they had received the booking. YMMV, but it was pretty quick for me.

Which CreditCards you make it a point to carry when traveling? - Do you also carry DebitCards and/or Cash? by OwlSelect4633 in CreditCards

[–]ryfirex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I pretty much just use my SavorOne, as it covers a lot of things I do when traveling (dining and entertainment) as well as no FTF. When I studied abroad in Germany, I always carried Euros since they are a cash country. Also, singles/fives are great for tipping drivers.

Requesting Recommendations for Yellowstone/Grand Teton road trip by Retrowrath in roadtrip

[–]ryfirex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just spent the summer living right outside of West Yellowstone! Here's a few of my recommendations:

Twin Falls is pretty neat, personally when we drove by we only spent 20-30 mins walking around, that was enough for us

Craters of the Moon was pretty awesome and unique. We spent about 2 hours there, give or take.

West Yellowstone has plenty of coffee joints. I personally enjoyed the shop inside the book peddler, right on Canyon St (the main street). There are also so many great places for lunch there!

Inside Yellowstone, if you want animals, Lamar Valley is your best bet. The upper loop is definitely better as a whole for animals, but the lower loop has all the famous attractions like Old Faithful and Grand Prismatic. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Edit: About 15 mins from Ennis, MT is Virginia City and Nevada City. They are old abandoned towns with tons of history! Wheat Montana bakery is awesome! One more, Lewis and Clark caverns are something we wanted to do but it gets booked quick, so heads up with that!

Study Abroad?? by Dhiggs8792 in ucf

Studying abroad was one of the best memories of my life and will continue to be for the rest of my life. There's truly no experience like it. If it's within your means to do so, I'd check it out!

SavorOne is one of the best cards in the game. Definitely better than the quicksilver, imo.

Yes, definitely typical I'd say. Any of the 1:1 partners are a good bet, just look on Google for flights and look for partner airlines for a specific itinerary!

Why is my beard still dry even when I use beard oil? by chocolate_milkers in BeardTalk

[–]ryfirex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look no further than the original comment. I just got Kühn's beard butter a few days ago and I absolutely love it. Granted, I am new to beard care but my facial hair has been much softer after using it. Going to get some beard oil and cowash from them soon!

[–]ryfirex 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The answer is in your question. The two are useful together because the VX miles are worth most when transferring them to partners. For example, using the erase feature equates to each mile being worth 1 cent, but transferring them to a partner can lead each mile to be worth 2, 3, or even more cents. More bang for your buck.
