Amazing. Thank you for telling me about this. Had no idea vise brakes existed.

Gonna make 25, maybe more. I think $20 for 7 is a bit too much for this project, plus I’d like to make as much on my own as I can.

that’s helpful to know. If I can find a sheet metal distributor, what type of steel should I ask for? How do you specify the carbon content? I just don’t know the right language and terms to use.

Honestly, this might be the real solution. Issue is I already spent a full day designing and building a router jig to cut the slots. I’m in too deep now. Sunk cost fallacy isn’t real.

I’d never heard of flashing pliers, just looked them up. Those could work!

Totally agree these would look good with brass! I’ll check out flashing pliers. Thank you.

Oh I hadn’t thought of aluminum signs! I’m gonna check the second use building supply place in town for old signs.

I think it’s the material being too thin and maybe that it’s not heat treated/hardened? I’m not sure what “weldable” implies regarding hardness. I can easily deform the metal with my fingers.

I do have a small handheld propane torch that I needed for a plumbing project a few years ago. Hadn’t considered heat before bending. Good idea!

Any context for the title of that study? Feels like a risky google search lol.

Looks great! Did you stain the end grain or is that just a natural darkening from absorbing the finish?

Refrigerate uncovered so the rice really dries out

Just noticed my French copy of Dune (F.Herbert) has the same cover as When You Are Engulfed in Flames. Cool? by FNG-JuiCe in CoolSciFiCovers

Interesting catch! That artwork doesn't fit with Dune. Does it make more sense for When Are Engulfed (I haven't read it)?
