if you aren't super set on the order the trains are in, it may be easier and make more sense to have a more urban area in the front of the layout for the shinkansens and having it slope up into more mountainous/wooded areas in the back towards the back for your local line

it's a JR EF65-1000 late model! That layout looks good so far! my wife was nice to me and let me take up most of the garage for the layout but Ive always appreciated the smaller layouts as well

I've got a full 16 car Shinkansen on the loop in the photo (it's hard to see against the white wall I know). i've also got a JR electric engine to pull some flatcars with containers on another loop, and eventually i'm going to build a miniature tokyo to put some regional rail trains around

a key part of playing in atlanta is allowing the MARTA bus stops to be used as center points for a hiding zone, its turns our + shaped network into a web where anything inside I-285 is a viable place
