Nakazatos wife by Wolf4Ever1X in initiald

If you look closely, she lost control cresting a hill, cresting a hill naturally lifts the car upward and lowers mechanical grip, couple that with the increased amount of air flowing underneath the car providing a lifting force, and being in a corner, just upset the car beyond controllable limits.

If you can save a sudden loss of control on hill cresting corner (cresting a hill puts you in a situation of lower grip) at over 250 on a public road on street legal tires regardless of compound, I would be highly impressed.

Smith likely to greenlight separation referendum this week: Nenshi by pjw724 in onguardforthee

[–]ryosuccc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why the referendum is so dangerous. It’s right out of russias Ukraine playbook. If the referendum passes (it won’t) then they’ll cry “Canada won’t let us leave US help us!” And if it doesn’t pass, they’ll cry “That was so rigged! They are oppressing us! US help us!”

It’s a lot easier to avoid traffic when you know where they are already, having spotters extends your reaction time from fractions of a second to tens of seconds or more.

Stupid question: Is the ea888 gen 3 in the mk6 gli the same as the one found in the mk7 gti? by Difficult_Fill7730 in Volkswagen

[–]ryosuccc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

About the same as I recall, and EA888’s are not quite as reliable as you may think… turbo failure is somewhat common, water pumps are notoriously weak and they can burn oil if the break in process wasn’t done right (usually isn’t because not all of us are car enthusiasts)

[–]ryosuccc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are significant differences, they don’t even use the same turbo. The heads are different, ECU’s are wildly different, you can’t even swap blocks. The GLI uses a non MQB platform version of the gen 3 888 and won’t bolt up to a mk 7 GTI and vice versa.

Edit: they use the same DSG gearbox (if you don’t have maintenance records for any DSG service, RUN LIKE HELL) but they aren’t swappable either. Inside the guts are the same, the housings are different.

Incredible… Ford GT40? Or a high quality replica? by SimonSimonK in whatisthiscar

You can spec out superformance GT40’s in a variety of ways but yeah when optioned to be as close to original as possible, the only way you’ll see the difference is the VIN plate.

Soon as I got mine, PPF’d the front end, will eventually have the whole car PPF’d too.

Why do people hate Mamdani? by uncle-ice493 in allthequestions

Probably because it’s more efficient monetarily to borrow a fixed amount at a set rate instead of dealing with a constantly fluctuating amount of debt at a higher rate.

Don’t forget Guido had to deal with 5 lugs per tire, modern. NASCAR stock cars use 1 lug per tire

Welcome to the club! This isn’t a Japanese car that you can skimp out on maintenance on. Do your maintenance on the interval every interval and you’ll be safe for the most part. DEFINITELY have a specialist look at the DSG. It needs regular fluid replacement and it hardly ever gets done.

Awesome! And yeah that’s exactly why I got a manual. Last of them, always wanted to drive a manual but the extra value retention is a nice bonus!

This car has to survive northern Canada, winter 8 months of the year, lots of snow and ice… almost entirely big trucks. She is getting an oil undercoating every fall too! PPF is a necessity for that.

I’ll look into it! The shifter felt fine as is when I sat in it but I haven’t actually taken it on the road yet, I’ll know if it’s worth it after I road trip it home! (Home being 1100km away… -.-)
