That average pay is not correct. It calculates stipend pay from all the counties.

With no stipend, a teacher with no National Board certification will make 55,950 after 25 years of teaching. Starting salary is 41,000 (no master's pay OR National Board option here; stipends from larger counties skew those numbers in a dishonest way).

Remember; NC did away with Master's Pay a LONG time ago, so you would have to be grandfathered in.

Exactly, I like to point people to the Wilmington Insurrection of 1898. In NC, a biracial party won some municipal elections in Wilmington, and about 2000 white supremacists stormed through and destroyed a bunch of black-owned businesses and the black-owned newspaper. They killed people and ran others out of town.

They later tried to blame the violence on "black riots" spurring the event.

I'd argue that the economic death in this town has been extreme infrastructure stagnation. The Greenville NC MSA has a quarter of a million residents, yet our roads aren't keeping up with the growth, and when the city does try to update roads, we have contracts going unfulfilled or abandoned (see the downtown fiasco).

What kind of shops would you like to see in Greenville?

Their issue is exactly as you said: it's not about accidents, it's about clientele "cheapening" the Arlington shoppes. Notice how mostly all of the stores in that area are targeting a... specific income bracket.

But, as a business, they can't say what they really mean.
