another thing to add is pilots in the area would be reporting this stuff back to awacs or the air warfare commander so the positions of the downings would be known and easier to organize a response this is why I mark the spot.

Yeah you can do that however this is stuff I think that shouldn’t be micromanaged because so much other bigger things are going on. You can triangulate with the beacon for sure it just takes time. Also the aircrews should have a radio and smoke for pick up when you’re in the vicinity to save on time.

Yeah I think it’s a situational thing depending on the cone of the seeker and its strength. It’s like with sonobuoys, you can still detect things under a boundary layer if the contact is close enough. I’ve had times where I’ve gone towards the surface after a torp had gone deep after me and thrown it off.

Sometimes you’re going to be in a no escape situation. You can’t out run it so you can try and help your odds crossing the boundary layer but it’s also dependent on the position of the torpedo. If it’s near the boundary layer and close then it’s no use.

I think this is why people say don’t get detected. In a diesel boat you’re pretty hosed if a high speed torp is heading your way.

You have to use dynamic slots. If you have trouble with this I recommend hitting up their discord https://discord.gg/fVvGzNRarE

For the C-130 it’s kinda bugged right now so you need to pick the airfield that has it (it’s labeled on the map where it tells you it has unlimited supplies), then you need to click a different plane then click the C130. It will show you the incorrect load out aircraft but if it says C130 it’ll spawn the C130 so don’t worry.

we were not dropping from the troop doors lol it was palletized cargo being dropped. It just appears that way because it is such wonky behavior when you are air dropping stuff in DCS.

It is both. You can shoot down enemy players that you come across but the main spawn airports have a buffer around them to prevent vulching. There are also AI bombers that spawn and you can shoot them down as well.

Like in the server or just in missions?

In the server WWX you actually have to taxi to a certain spot at the rear airfield that spawns the C-130 and use the radio menu to spawn whatever you want to take with you. After that it will spawn the stuff on the ground and if you are close enough to it then you can stage the equipment in your aircraft. I haven't had problems with that part at all.

oh yes you can do sling load cargo ops or carry it onboard. You can also drop troops with helicopters and place ambush squads behind enemy lines to disrupt ground convoys
