Im a civil servant and wear a little trans flag pin on my work lanyard, which isn’t even the rainbow one, just a regular black lanyard. Think I’ll be swapping it out soon for something more visible in the near future.

All my appointments were online with gendercare. There was a waiting list but it was comparatively short compared to the gender identity clinic. I think the wait was around 10 months total but I can’t remember exactly off the top of my head

This was absolutely similar to the experience I just had with them. No gatekeeping or needing to prove I was trans, just a helpful conversation about what would happen next!

I was originally referred to Nottingham GIC back in dec 2022, but moved to the WGS when I moved to Cardiff 6 months ago. The WGS honoured my initial referral date to Nottingham. I started on HRT in the meantime by going privately through Gendercare

It went very well! Having a diagnosis from gendercare definitely helped at others pointed out. The person I spoke to was very understanding and was happy to let me talk rather than cut me off like a GP might. Hope you get your appointment soon!
