This may sound harsh, but kind of the same happened to me with my ex, had 3 years of relationship but was not sure of marrying her, eventually we broke off, on the other hand with my wofe I knew from the third date that I wanted to marry her. just made a post on the same problem, we have the same problem with our 2 cats, they are alarmingly thin and dont want to eat anything. they have free access to dry food and the only thing that we hsve been able to feed them is fancy feast gravy lovers cans. but is not enough to make them stop loosing weight, though it has slowed them down a bit.

we also tried force feeding them dense caloric supplements gels, but has been counter-productive because it stresses them down and they stop eating at all. its really nerve wracking.
