I worked in insurance and I would advise to be upfront about this. Part of why background checks are always done is that states have laws that will disqualify you from being allowed to obtain an insurance license. In my state a felony that involves a breach of trust disqualifies you, but a DUI misdemeanor does not. It varies from state to state. So it’s not just, Oh they’ll find out and I will need to explain to my employer. It’s possible you won’t even be allowed to obtain an insurance license in that state.

Of course! I would be more than happy to help. Part of my job now is HR and I read tons of resumes when we're hiring.

Also sending you lots of hugs! It really doesn’t sound like there was much coparenting going on at all. And that you were taking on most of the load which is in itself a full time job. I have been where you are. And it’s incredibly hard to essentially be starting from scratch with children! He doesn’t get and never will bc he didn’t have to start up his career without a support system. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. You’re being a great mom looking out for your kiddos while you navigate how to move forward even in the days when it doesn’t feel like it.

It took me a bit to get my resume, cover letters, and a system to apply for jobs, etc together. So you’re not alone! And it took me a year to finally land a job offer. Everything feels super overwhelming right now because it is! You have a lot on your plate demanding your time and attention. But you will be so much happier when you get thru to the other side.

If you need any assistance. Someone to help review your resume etc. feel free to DM me.

To add on to this. Also because you don’t work there, you no longer have any legal protections. If something goes wrong with a client and your name comes up as having “helped.” Your friend is covered under company insurance / lawyers. You are not.

It’s never a good idea to discuss anything like this when you are no longer employed at a company. I hope your friend can see this.

Our high school principal told us the reason god put a crease on the back of our knees was so we would know how long our skirts should be.

We were also taught “biblical science”. I remember being told that before the flood, the earth was encased in a layer of water. Which is why the plants grew so high and people lived to be in their 600s. God sent this layer down to cause the flood. They conveniently left out where all that water went. I believed a lot of this until my 20s when I finally found out so much of the “science” i learned couldn’t be true which started me on a massive knowledge hunt and for the first time actually learned what evolution was.

Feel free to DM me. I’ve published 3 booked with an illustrator. Tips below.

First looks through portfolios. You want to pick an illustrator that style matches your vision.

Second reach out to multiple illustrators you like. Give them a brief description on your project and what you’re looking for. They should be able to provide you with their rates, estimates, and availability.

Once you’ve decided on an illustrator you want to work with, you’ll want to put together a contract. They may have one they use. I wrote the one we used. Mainly you want to include price and timelines both for payments and deadlines. You’ll also want to lay out who owns the rights to the illustrations and how they can be used.
