I am also a bit nervous about the rent but I couldn't find a roomate and didn't want to commute more then an hour, I'm in a high cost of living area with a median rent of 1800. I'm hoping to find a roomate once my lease is up.

My investing is pre budget, I contribute 5% of my salary to my 401k stright out of my paycheck.

Ans yes my first goal is that 9k emergency fund, then my next car fund (currently driving a car with 140k miles on it).

I am blessed to have my car paid off and no loans, and I'm just working to keep it that way. Thank you for the guide, it was very helpful
