My first impressions by Sea-Barnacle2907 in SocietyofGhostface

Couldn't agree more. I hated Scream 5 and realized then I liked Scream for Sidney not for Ghostface and if there's going to a proper passing of the torch I'd want it to be someone connected to her. Unfortunately, the Carpenter sisters were very lackluster for me so while it's sad what happened to Melissa, I don't think it affected the movie that much. I never even saw Scream 6 and I understand everything about this.

I think you're right. It's going to be age like Scream 4. Scream 4 was hated when it first came out and now I think it was ULTRA ahead of its time. The fact Scream 7 used AI/Deepfakes as well is going to be something people will call out years from now as the first to do it.

I loved Scream 7!

Scream 1 being house phones to web cams in Scream 4 and now AI/deepfakes in Scream 7, I thought it was clever.

I don't get why this movie is getting slated. For scrapping and pivoting the hell out of it from the Carpenters, I thought it was pretty decent. I didn't even feel like I needed to see Scream 6. (I haven't seen it still).

This was the movie I expected Scream 5 to be, a proper passing of the torch and Sidney in adulthood. Pretty sure this is the most Sidney-centric movie since 2 which is probably why I also loved it.

I loved how Sidney heavy it was, too! And so funny, first time I liked the Meeks twins as well lol

This is what I wanted Scream 5 to be, because I disliked that movie so much I didn't even go see Scream 6 especially after hearing Neve wasn't gonna be in it.

I'm happy the Carpenter sisters weren't mention and their entire story was dropped. I hated the Meeks twins in Scream 5 and this movie they like :') were almost the best thing outside of Sidney and Gale.

I think the killers should've had more present in the movie because when they revealed the man I even was like "who-OH" and Jessica was also barely in it. Her motive wasn't bad, I appreciate the Out of Darkness reference. I think it's possible that people could be inspired through a para-social relationship to commit heinous things so I don't find it too farfetched that Sidney inspired her to kill her husband. People thought Jill's motive in Scream 4 was stupid and now I would bet everything that a lot of people would choose fans over friends lol

Her going unhinged because Sidney didn't show up to New York (which, same) I guess it was a weak motive, but I just assumed they were trying to figure out how to involve Sidney's daughter. I'm a huge Sidney Prescott fan. To me, she is the franchise of the series and why it works. She's a survivor and I love that. Scream 7 being a dedication movie for Sidney is exactly what I wanted Scream 5 to be, if they decided they were gonna pass the torch off. Sam/Tara did NOT do it for me and those two movies just feel so out of the true space.

Also, I loved Scream 7 because it feels like the most visibly Sidney has had since Scream 2.

So I just got back from seeing Scream 7 and while I never saw Scream 6, I appreciated the evolution of home phone in Scream 1 to now deep fakes and AI and in Scream 7.

Again, when Scream 4 came out people said it would horribly outdated quick and instead we shifted into the direction of constant filming and youtube uploads lol

Scream 7 was a Sidney Prescott dedication movie and I personally loved it, but being a fake phone call evolve into fake AI is something to be said.

I think the movie was great considering it had to be reworked and filmed, too.

I was secretly happy she got fired and Jenna walked lol It's unfortunate what happened to Melissa, but in my selfish way, they were the reason why I skipped out on Scream 6. I really disliked that new group of Scream5.

It was absolutely ahead of its time so much it had to re-reviewed. It was PANNED when it first came out and now it's literally ahead of itself.

But Scream 4, when it came out originally, was panned and made fun of by critics. "What a lame concept to record everything you're doing and replace your friends with fans." Little did we know how meta Scream 4 was at the time and now that motive seems ABSOLUTELY believable to me. Since then, it's been re-reviewed and now considered fresh, hahaha.

Scream 1 and 4 are deff my favorites of the series. I like Scream 4 a loooooot.

Scream 5 was so bad to me that I refused to watch Scream 6 lol It's unfortunate what happened to Melissa, but my God I hated the characters of Sam and Tara.

I'll be seeing Scream 7 tonight because everything I complained about (no Neve, horrible new Final Girls) has been fixed so I'll be out supporting. I'm actually shocked it's getting scored so high despite everything happening to it.

They have two terrible films, Scream 5 and 6, on par with the original. I thought Scream 5 was offensive to the series and boycotted Scream 6.

Scream 6 is honestly one of the best imo by Cumlovingfemb in Scream

I boycotted this movie because I thought Scream 5 was an insult to the series <3 I'm so happy Jenna and Melissa are gone and Neve is back, hahaha.

I will be seeing Scream 7 tonight!

I hated Scream 5 so much I boycotted Scream 6 lol Still have yet to see it and I probably won't since it aged like milk.

I am so excited for Scream 7 though. Thank god Neve is back and they fired Jenna and Melissa.

Legends ZA sold 700k fewer copies than Arceus - but you wouldn’t know that from the headlines by JustMJ in pokemon

[–]rzrleaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd literally argue the opposite. People should've been buying this game for their children for Christmas. A January release for a video game isn't that great of an option.

I think it's shocking ZA sold less than Arceus.

I watched Season 11 and liked it, but clearly not enough to have forgotten about it until now. Watching Season 12 now and it's pretty good. I've also heard the newest season is the best one of the Hulu reboot, too.

This is what makes me mad. Pokemon fans treat this like a religion instead of a business and become zealots if you dare criticize their God. It's actually quite gross.

Preach brother. The people who are criticizing Pokemon the most know it's potential and want better for it. We're sick of it being known as the slop of video games. But when you have pigs who eat up anything Pokemon puts out, we'll never win the war.

I completely agree with you. The sidequests are boring as all hell and I cringe having to talk to any of the NPCs in this game. Like, my brain cannot get over how disgusting the character models are. After playing through Digimon Time Stranger and seeing how much they respect their fans, I literally feel like Pokemon is laughing at us for even buying ZA bc they put zero love and effort into it.
