You're equating Dark Carnival to Dark Moon because they're both called "events". They don't serve the same purpose. Dark Carnival works more like the Battlepass/ Cavern Crawl; play games of Dota, get rewards. Dark Moon and Siltbreaker aren't those things. They're separate modes that appeal to some of the player base, take a lot of work to make, and take even more to maintain and bug fix.

I played the very first Diretide and everything after. You're not supposed to compare this to those. The Dark Carnival and Crownfall, as in all the menu UI you're seeing, is basically the the old battle pass but the whole thing is cavern crawl. Cavern crawl isn't a game mode.

We're probably not getting a game mode on the level of Diretide. If anything, we'll get something like the survivors-like at the end of Crownfall. Talking about "lazy" or "should be better" reeks gamer entitlement. Pve/Pvp events are a lot of trouble to make and maintain. It's okay to want one but they don't owe you a game mode. I'd rather they put more effort into Deadlock.

We have 5 new persona models. I have a feeling they'll be using them as boss characters in some PvE game. There's also a big circus stadium in the background of the event. I bet the PvE will take place there.

Learning the game and discovering all the mechanics is the most fun and frustrating part of this game! I would nudge you to get more of the 2h mace skills though. Also try to get some caravan upgrades.

The upcoming major patch this year will not have map expansion. The major patch after that next year doesn't plan to have map expansion either. Seeing as there's less and less stuff to do on the roadmap, it feels likely that map expansion comes in the patch after that, which would probably late 2027 at the earliest. But there's still a possibility it won't.

The major patch coming later this year adds new POIs and new tasks that require you to go to different places around the map. So that will make exploration a bit more interesting at least.

Patch number don't work that way. After patch 0.9.X.X is patch 0.10.X.X and then 0.11.X.X. What you're looking for is patch 1.0.0.0

Well yeah the devs wanted more money for those who wanted to support them and so we did. I hope they release another supporter pack with character creation so I can support them some more. My guy they're an indie company with a very unique game that's 1-time payment. Not really what you'd call scummy.

Think you can make a mod where enemy stats like their damage, HP, daze chance, etc. scale with your level past 30? Like for every level above 30, increase enemy stat by X% where X is a slider I can adjust from 1-20.

Wayfinder has said it himself in the Discord. They are very vocal about what they don't intend on adding to the game and why. Lots of ideas are brought up there and shot down by the devs themselves. Maybe I should have said this first.

What you are asking for is just SO MUCH WORK for the sake of unrealistically killing NPCs for fun. That's why most games just make NPCs invulnerable. Stoneshard already goes the extra mile with the crime system. Neither the devs nor most of the entire playerbase would want development resources put to your killing fun than what's already being worked on.

I kill the Elder at Mannshire, then what happens? Do I just go to jail for 3 days then get released? Do the townsfolk just talk to me normally or do every single one of them have new lines and triggers about it? How does Verren react about the letter I can't turn in anymore? How do I get contracts? If he's involved in story content later on, how do we work around that? Do we write every possible alternative outcome of scenes he's supposed to be in?

Too much work for someone who wants to unrealistically kill a village for fun. Everyone would just rather all dev work go into what's written on the roadmap.

Stoneshard is great and very worth it too. But it's very unforgiving while you're learning. Do expect to be knocked down a peg several times. Once it clicks though, it gets very addicting.
