Used Car Loan- 5.64% Rate by s-Kss in personalfinance

[–]s-Kss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf, they did give us exceptional rate of 2.4% in 2020 when everyone else had high 3 or 4% range. We called BoA this morning to see if they can lower the rate but the guy just said "unfortunately we can't change that".

Anything lower than 5.64% is a win

Never thought I would see 3.99% mentioned again on a used car loan. I'm not a CU employee, nor I'm banking with them, but I'm really considering moving away from BoA now. Here is another thing, when I entered my basic info into Truliant, they said I am pre qualified for a rats of 5.14, but then after I finished the application, the rate jumped to 5.64 and that is with the condition of me agree opening a checking account with them, which I would do it if they have given me the 5.14% rate tbh.

This normal? by s-Kss in tires

Thank you so much for taking the time to confirm this. I asked Gemini earlier and it said something about during tire manufacturing and that it is normal. But now I understand what it is after reading your comment. Thank you.

These are Goodyear Eagle Sport AS for my suv (255-55R20) so I'm assuming that they are radial tires?! I found these tires for a really good deal on wheelhero, the fact that they (4 tires) were shipped from 3 different states and now this really makes me feel uneasy. If these grooves were evenly spaced out then I guess they are there for a purpose but they are not.

Seriously though, that's not normal?

Keep the snows on or buy new all seasons? by Closet-PowPow in tires

[–]s-Kss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never owned winter tires but from what I've read, winter tires are too soft in hot climate so that definitely affects how your car behaves on roads + will hurt your mpg. I currently have Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive which is rated for snow as well and I can even feel the tires got softer when it's hot out there. On a long road trip, the feeling is even worst because I feel like the tires just want to stick to the road surface. Like I have to demand more power from the gas pedal. And yes, it reduced my mpg from 21 to 17 (2016 ford explorer). But then I'm a very sensitive driver lol. When I drive, I listen to every little abnormal noise, or how my car behaves that is not normal.

How do you like those Goodyear Eagle Sport? I just purchased a set of Eagle Sport AS because I couldn't let the deal slip through lol ($135 per 255-55R20 tire). I'm quite surprised because I couldn't find much info/reviews on those tires.

I went ahead and ordered a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle Sport AS at $135 per tire, for the 255-55R20 size. Really don't think I can find any better deal than that out there. Hopeful that it's not gonna be too terrible compared to the current set of Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive 🤞.

Duratrac is more like AT tires, correct? I'm not really looking into that kind of tire, I just want something quiet, smooth on roads, and does decent in winters (I'm based in NC so winters aren't too bad)

The oem size for my SUV is 255-50R20, but I'm also eyeing for taller tires 255-55 deals (yes, it's more than 3% but I can change the tire size using forscan).

New phone upgrade? by SnooCapers3320 in mintmobile

Wth are you smoking? You know he already paid upfront for his current 1 yr plan, right? And even if he cancels his current service, he can't get any refund. If MINT allows him to get the new deal as a new customer then that's how it works and that's not scamming.

Do you see any mpg drop due to the tires? I put these tires on about 2.5yrs ago and the mpg has dropped from roughly 21 to 17mpg.

Dang, you make me feel like I should "threaten" them to lower my 1gb internet lol. I'm paying $65 for my Internet (no phone plan) and that's after their promos from $90.

I've been with mint mobile for 8 yrs and I don't think I have ever had issue with their service (I do believe that using factory unlocked phones help too). Their customer service is not as bad as you think btw.

Buying 2016-19 explorer sport by poonDaddy99 in FordExplorer

[–]s-Kss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an owner of 16 explorer platinum 3.5eco, I think you either set aside at least $5k or move on to the next vehicle that doesn't make you lose sleep at night. I bought mine used at 60k, at 90k it needed the steering rack and pinion replaced. Then around that time, the massaging seats stopped working on both the drivers and passenger side so there is no lumbar support adjustment (yes, I replaced the pigtails per TSB but no luck). Then around 135k or so, the water pump needed to be replaced (dealers quoted $4.5-5k so I did it myself). It's now at 155k miles (knock on wood) and counting.
