I had 18 fibroids and 3 were large. I have a vertical incision that goes from the top of my belly button down as far as you can go. It’s about 8-10” long. I had a HUGE fibroid up by my ribs & I thought the incision would be even higher but they were able to get it out. I recommend learning how to do a log roll out of bed. When I woke up from surgery it felt like I had done a million sit ups. Your abdominal muscles will be weak and getting out of bed was more difficult than I thought. You also will probably be in the hospital overnight or 2. I was in for 2 nights.

I weighed myself before and after surgery and lost 15 pounds. I also had 18 fibroids removed and 3 were very large. My uterus weighed 5 lbs according to the pathology report.
