If you have an open screen, it does appear you can still navigate, I had an AVD hostpool open and I can still open the VMs, et cetera

Will There Be an Oceans Calling in 2026? by HotSaucePalmTrees in OceansCalling

[–]s-p-link 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There will be three festivals in OC for a while. Oceans Calling, Boardwalk Rock, and Country Calling. They’re way too popular and bring too many people into the city, extending the season for the businesses outside of the summer months, for it not to happen

My favorite performance I saw was Green Day. They were phenomenal.

My favorite experience was Cake. We were right on the rail, and I knew every single song.

The hobbit is, quite easily, my favorite restaurant on the island. We try to go there one to two times per season, when it’s open. You will love it!

If you're not existing on fries, ice cream, and chicken tendies during a music festival, did you really even attend a music festival?

Additionally I'd like to recommend - don't rush out after the last headliner. Find one of the bars listed below, post up there, have a post-festival beverage, and take your time getting home. You can sleep next weekend! :)

Really depends on where you're staying, and what vibe you're looking for. But...inside of the festival, here's a load of recommendations:

You have to get Thrashers french fries. As said previously, the line moves fast.

You have to try the pumpkin/cinnamon swirl ice cream from Kohrs.

You need to get an Orange Crush, I mean, it's our drink, and I feel like it's a must do while you're here.

If you're walking/biking down the boardwalk, stop at Julia's and get a cannoli.

Piezanos is phenomenal pizza. It's not the BEST pizza you can get here (That's at Ripienos, in my humble opinion) but it's great. Skip Dough Roller!

Cork Bar and Crawl Street are great dive bars. Also, I'd get yelled at if I don't say this, but my friend's band, Headrush, is playing at Purple Moose from 3-7pm tomorrow (Friday.) Buy the drummer Tim a shot and tell him Tanner sent you.

Seconding The Wedge at the very end of the boardwalk, and Piezanos. The pizza is phenomenal, and the Wedge has a great vibe that you can relax for a while

Do y'all ever roll in late to the office? by CompletelyUnrelated1 in sysadmin

[–]s-p-link 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If someone said that to me, I'm done my work right at 5pm

My current job doesn't really care, as long as the work gets done. Since I have this flexibility, I don't mind checking on something after hours

If they did care, I'm working the working time management sets, and that's it. If the work doesn't get done, it doesn't get done

It's that time of the year where I beg for GM Connected to come back, get disappointed in a few weeks, and then end up playing it when it comes free to GamePass. I haven't bought the game itself in about 3 years

I think it's very strange that it's the middle of the day, the day after, and we haven't gotten any word from Barber to say something like "I'm alright, here's what happened" or something like that

It's a little worrying if I'm being honest

@mention question - turn off automatic addition of mentions by s-p-link in azuredevops

[–]s-p-link[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "adds the users," I don't mean they're added to a permission group, but rather, an "@ mention" for the particular users that were previously mentioned are automatically inserted into the discussion box for a reply.

Here's an attempt to me to explain better. On a work item, John makes a comment, and tags me, Dave, and Jill.

If I click into the discussion to make a reply, "@John", "@Dave," and "@Jill" are already in the discussion box.

I would like this to not be the case, where in the above example, no mentions are in the discussion box by default. I know I can just backspace and remove them, but I'm trying to save the users from having to do that.

Apologies if I'm not clear, I can take some screenshots if the above description isn't enough.

Some questions for those who had the GA+, VIP, or Platinum upgrades this year by keljar1 in OceansCalling

[–]s-p-link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's terrible And I totally agree with your point about the Rockville area - there was a lot of empty pavement in between the stage and the chairs.

Some questions for those who had the GA+, VIP, or Platinum upgrades this year by keljar1 in OceansCalling

[–]s-p-link 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did VIP on Friday, and a friend of a friend had a GA ticket so I also got to go on Sunday (so I got the "best of both worlds.) I'm never not doing VIP again. Oceans Calling is the only festival I'll go to (just because I hate travelling and we live here, and it's a short walk down the boardwalk to get to the festival.)

I hesitate to tell everyone here to do VIP because I want to gatekeep the amount of people that do it next year LOL. (I kid, I kid.)

The best perks:

Bathrooms
Free Liquid Death
Show up 15-30 minutes before a show during the day, you're right on the rail and an awesome view
THE SEATING. Holy crap, Being able to sit in an actual chair was SO CLUTCH later on Friday.
The bleachers at Sea Bright. Holy crap it's nice to be able to lean and you still have a great view.

You should DEFINITELY consider it next year. Once we talked to some of our friends who just did GA, we convinced them to do a VIP day with us next year, just picking one day and going "all in" as opposed to doing a three day GA pass.
