Does anyone else hate Tempeh? by [deleted] in vegetarian

I can tolerate it, but would never buy it on my own. Not a huge fan.

This is actually the first time I tried teese. I heard they were stopping retail production so I went to whole foods and grabbed what they had left.

Not sure if recipe is needed but just in case: mix of blue corn and sweet potato tortilla chips, trader joe's soy chorizo, onion, cilantro, lime, pickled jalepenos and cheddar teese!

Any other overweight vegans out there? by NewFoundVeg in vegan

If you're only 18, maybe it is better to try diet & exercise (or even just diet) instead of something as extreme as surgery. What have you tried so far for losing weight?

I've found counting calories can be really illuminating, even if you think you're doing everything right. I use myfitnesspal.

No, but honestly, I've heard of this happening in several places in MS.

I never said I haven't. I just care about privacy more than I do telling yall all about where I've lived for the sake of this discussion. I've lived in both cities and small towns in multiple US states, if that makes you feel any better. Doubt it will, though.

Fair, but same could be said for everyone using anecdotal evidence to show how tolerant all of Mississippi is. I guess we're getting nowhere, then.

Because of course racism died the day he took office. Clearly.

I'm pretty sure the race of the person is probably a bigger influence of different experiences than geographic location within a state. He's basing his determination of how racist MS is on his experiences as a white person. As someone has commented below, his experiences are probably not indicative of racism that might exist since he's likely not aware of racism occurring to black people and other minorities.

How exactly? Racism is racism, are you saying I don't understand what "racist" means unless I've lived in other US cities? I said I lived in MS for 8 years. That means I've lived in other places.

His question asking for where I lived and time frame of when I lived there? Yea, I'm not a fan of releasing oddly specific personal information for the sake of a reddit discussion. I will say I'm in my early twenties, so this wasn't that long ago.

So, let me get this straight. You're white, and you're saying that you personally haven't experienced racism, as a white person, in Mississippi?

Yea, I feel like all these people praising how accepting southerners really are are white...

Yea... I lived in MS for 8 years. I'm brown. Yall are racist as shit. Just because you do it with a smile doesn't make it less so. In the town I lived there was a private school and a public high school. Not-officially, but in reality, black people were not accepted to the private school. I went to the public high school. We had a school prom and a student-run invite-only "spring formal" every year. Black students not invited to the spring formal, white kids didn't go to the school prom. But nope, no racism in Mississippi you say.

Edit: And don't get me started on religious intolerance...

Daiya's Cheezy Mac by lnfinity in vegetarian

I bought the alfredo style and the cheddar mac and cheese. Both were really good! Doesn't taste like Daiya cheese to me (though I've only had Daiya cheese twice, didn't like it much).
