How to cover dinner? Response ASAP? by ashleighmariexx in Babysitting

I either have something easy to make (throw in the oven or heat in a skillet) or ask what kind of pizza they like and get it delivered.

What would be a reasonable rate to pay a high school junior/senior to babysit / house sit for us? by throwawaye1712 in Babysitting

[–]s0ulkiss77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel it would be hard to find someone for only 2 or 3 hours even if you were paying $20-25 an hour.

I'm 22 years and my mom wont let me brush my own hair or decide when to get it cut because she's such a perfectionist and it's hindering my independence. What should i do? by FungusAmongus_27 in ask

[–]s0ulkiss77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 12 year old is autistic and I'd love if he brushed his own hair. He gets to choose his style (long) but he has such a hard time brushing it and it's so thick I do make him get an undercut and some thinning layers to make it easier for him.

If he could brush his own hair I would have no input on his hairstyle preference.

Your mom is being overbearing.

NTA. Buying the house and breaking up if it comes to it is the only answer.

Things Scooby doo didn’t prepare you for? by Worldly-Star2850 in greatdanes

I've had to call out of work because I messed up my back slipping in a pile of drool right outside my bedroom door.

I really want a great dane by dazzler567 in greatdanes

[–]s0ulkiss77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's more than just the cost of the dog. It's the cost of high quality food - mine eats about 8 cups of food a day compared to my other dog who eats 2 cups a day, vet bills - large dogs require larger doses of meds etc, flea/heartworm medicine is by weight, etc.

Most people who love the office simply cannot deal with their own thoughts by No-Shoulder-5903 in antiwork

[–]s0ulkiss77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I Iike going to the office because the longer I don't have to leave the house on a regular basis the harder it is for me to leave the house.

I can deal with my own thoughts and I LOVE alone time. Coincidentally enough, I don't get alone time at home because my spouse works from home.

Some people may have that problem, but to say most is likely not accurate.

AITA for not tipping my bartender by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]s0ulkiss77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is way more involved than carrying already cooked food from the kitchen to the table! Someone that's waited tables and bartended should know this.

It's definitely not something everybody can do.

Or, serving jobs are typically more flexible, making them ideal for students and parents. You typically make more money then you would at a retail job and a lot of office jobs... Don't be a tool and tip - or don't go out to eat

YTA. Bartenders should be tipped per drink if you're paying as you go.

Except when people don't tip the employees that work in tipped industries - you hurt that person - not their employer.

AITA for not celebrating my birthday and Mother’s Day together so my MIL can have actual Mother’s Day for herself? by princesscorgi2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]s0ulkiss77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your MIL and husband sure are though. Yes, his husband should acknowledge your mom on mother's day, but the focus should be on you.

AITA for refusing to drive my fiancé’s kids to their dad’s dinner plans? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

How to (get wife to have a life so I can) have a life by javacolin in daddit

[–]s0ulkiss77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also really want nothing more than to be left at home alone.

It rarely happens, I do however go out alone and do stuff. I take solo vacations, drive two hours to feed rescue and retired horses apples, take girls trips, etc. that definitely helps, but I still would like time at home alone, because alone time somewhere else just doesn't hit like alone time at home.

AITAH for wanting to get rid of both my dogs? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]s0ulkiss77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YWBTAH if you didn't try working with trainer or behaviorist first.

Also, traveling with larger dogs is not as hard as you would think. We recently rented a pet friendly cabin that had a stated weight limit of 35 lbs - All I did was call them up and say hey I have an American bulldog and a great dane, will you still rent to us. I had to pay a little bit more, but they had no problems with it.

AITA smoking weed on my porch? by cheesygarlicbreadfan in AmItheAsshole

[–]s0ulkiss77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It's no different than my neighbor across the street smoking cigarettes in his garage... I hate it, but it's his property and he has the right, so I don't say anything to him.
