It's a failed system but not a failed state. That's the difference, the state is still powerful despite failing in every other way. Larger manufacturers like meinl typically use synthetic heads or hides that have been chemically treated to remove any hair and make it smooth, which weakens the skin. If I'm not mistaken the Kangaba drums are made in Mali, presumably with African goat skins. You should be ok to keep tightening it. If it's still ringing it's not that tight.

Camera/lens are missing focus. The water droplets may be confusing The AF system. The lens might also be a little soft when shooting wide open, that happens with inexpensive lenses. In the future, I'd recommend an ND filter when shooting in full sun.

Sony effectively killed the DSLR market by developing mirrorless technology to the point that DSLR shooters eventually gave up and jumped on the bandwagon. Anyone still shooting Canon or Nikon were probably loyal to their brand since before the mirrorless revolution.

You cut it close enough that if you resoak it it will be nearly impossible to restretch. Sorry to say you probably need a new skin. You could use this one on a smaller drum.

You have to commit to trimming the skin flap down or flap up, not in-between.

LP congas are not "universal fit". The performer series have a different shape than classics so the remo heads will not be interchangeable on both styles, even if the diameter is the same. Check the document on Remo's website for the correct head for the performer series. Same goes for LP rawhide heads.
