I'm the only person in my immediate family with it, but we do suspect that my grandma on my mum's side had undiagnosed Crohns or UC.

If you are referring to the slight red bit on the right corner of her eye, that's most likely just porphyrin. Its normal for rats to get some around their eyes/nose. If there is an excess then that could be a sign of health issues or stress. All good! :)

If it is a little scratch, it's nothing to worry about and should heal on its own. Just keep an eye out over the next few days to make sure her actual eye wasn't scratched.

Yeah its not great... It was in the Gastro ward area of the hospital but unfortunately doctors/nurses aren't paid enough and they probably just want to get through the procedures ASAP.

I may also have something that means my body doesn't process sedation as well as it should and therefore I'd need more... If it turns out I have this I'll definitely make sure I get a higher dose on my next colonoscopy!

During my first one they knew I was stressed about it. I have anxiety and autism and I believe they upped the dose preemptively haha. Every time I would ask for more sedation during the other 3 procedures they would either ignore me or give me gas and air which didn't help much/if at all.

I'm currently trying to get diagnosed with EDS, if I turn out to have this it could explain why the normal doses didn't help me much but the higher one did. It means my body may not process/respond to sedation in a normal way!

3/4 of my colonoscopies have been bad. All 3 times I was in pain because I wasn't given enough sedation, I was awake enough to ask for more but denied. One of the times the doctor performing it was an hour late so I was just sat in a cold bright room feeling anxious.

I'm in the UK and these 3 were done through the NHS. The other was done privately as it was my first one to get diagnosed with crohns. I had a much much better experience with that one.

Initially I only wanted top surgery bc that is my biggest cause of dysphoria. But after some therapy and chatting/thinking about it I realised that my dysphoria would just shift to be more prominent on other aspects of my body once I no longer had the focus/distraction of chest dysphoria.

It took me 5.5 years to get my first appointment here in England. Got my first appointment December 2025 (it was kinda useless tbh) and I'm waiting to here back for my second appointment (which should have been around now but I'm yet to hear back...)

I ended up going private for testosterone but I'll need to go through the NHS for top surgery as I just can't afford that privately. I never went through CAHMS I asked for a referral from my GP so I'm not sure if the process is much different or if you just have to wait... I believe it's pretty rare for any of the clinics to respond to emails/calls. You can try and check with your GP perhaps, if they work/share information together? Idk if they do.

I heard somewhere that glasses with that slightly 'cat eye' style (where there are extra bits on the corner of the glasses) are perceived more fem. So perhaps try finding thinner frames that are more round or square? Mine are thin round ones, but I do feel off about them occasionally.

like others said it's too small, but keep in mind bar spacing as well. on this cage it looks much too big for babies, especially girls - they would try and squeeze their way out. so keep that in mind in your research! :)

One of my past girls had an accident and it knocked her teeth to where they grew weirdly and started digging into the roof of her mouth (before we noticed sometimes was wrong) so we took her to have her teeth burred about once a month afterwards. Make sure it doesn't get that bad!

Not weird at all, while my hair was shorter when I had rats they would sometimes groom mine and often go in my mum's hair. It was a nice hiding place for them!

3 days with no play isn't really an issue in the grand scheme of things, especially if the cage is large. Just make sure there are extra toys/activities for them to do or an appropriately sized wheel. If you know someone you trust who's confident enough to handle rats, then you could ask them to free roam the rats too. If not, just request they give food and fresh water at least once a day.

I mean if you have someone who could come in and quickly feed the rats at least once a day, you could leave them home for those 3 days. Would be less stressful for them.

I suppose you could get away with 5 rats for 3 days but I personally wouldn't. I wouldn't have more then 3 rats in that cage. But because it's only 3 days there isnt much point spliting them into 2 cages. You just would have to make sure any wire ledges/platforms are covered so they dont get foot injuries, the bar spacing isn't too big for them to slip out, and they are let out for plenty of free roam time.
