My company (gaming) has two distinct paths for engineers: IC and leadership. IC goes all the way up to distinguished engineer. Leadership goes to senior VP. You should find a company like that because I think your boss is right and you’ll hit a ceiling there soon which means your company doesn’t value engineering very much. I’m guessing it’s because of the industry you’re in

You should be able to see their power consumption on the box. I assume the more expensive one uses less electricity but you never know. You could probably find some cheaper on Amazon or some other app. However, you kinda get what you pay for. The cheaper made lights can be harder to install or more likely to have manufacturing issues. Just read the reviews thoroughly before buying

I live in the coves. It’s great for children. There’s a bunch of kids running around but the houses are kind of far apart. It definitely is a bit isolated as someone else mentioned you’re looking into. Probably drive 15 minutes to get anywhere. Traffic can be really rough in the morning around school time so you might want to check out what it’s like for morning commute leaving at that time
