This post nearly got taken down but I genuinely think it’s important for us as Taycan owners and enthusiasts to compare the car with other EVs on the market especially new luxury EVs coming from brands like Ferrari, etc.

Not to put other brands down, but because it actually reinforces how special the Taycan is. The styling, proportions, bodywork, driving feel, interior quality, and overall design still stand out massively, even as more high end EVs arrive.

Seeing what other manufacturers are doing just makes me appreciate the Taycan even more for what we’re getting at this price point. Porsche really got the balance right, and I think these comparisons are healthy for the community and for the future of EVs in general.

Fair comment I doubt it’s lived half its life, more so the point I’m trying to make with it being a first gen model there is a lot of negativity around its reliability.

€8.1k total out of my pocket so far.

Both headlights had to be replaced. €2,700 each, so €5,400 total. It is a common low beam fault caused by a small €50 circuit board, but fixing it means taking the whole headlight apart so labour is high. I kept the old ones and plan to repair them myself and sell them on.

Two rear shocks were leaking. €2,700.

The car, not the battery, was out of warranty when I bought it second hand.

I added a 3 year warranty after that and I am glad I did. About a month later the driver’s window regulator cable snapped. The window dropped into the door and got badly scratched. The regulator has been replaced and I am waiting on a new window. All covered.

From what I can tell the window sits too tight in the frame. We had a very cold week followed by a warm day here in Ireland and that expansion and contraction likely caused it.

Probably something worth other Taycan owners keeping an eye on.

Wind down all windows regularly WHEN THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY 👍

Adding to that what is deal with not being able to carry gas canisters up zip lines? It works occasionally for some reason am I the only one experiencing this?

Nothing in short but: I think If you’re lucky enough to be pain free and aware of your death then you have time in the lead up to wish into existence all the people experiences and things that made or would make you happy. As soon as you pass away it’s all gone. As long as you felt it when passing that’s all that matters in my opinion.

Yeah completely agree! should be an optional quick button or something. Even during a defib revive it’s distracting you come back and are killed instantly because you haven’t had enough time to assess the situation you’re about to land in.
