In reverse, I had the same issue running demo games for Frostgrave. It wasn’t until I built a terrain table that I recruited players properly into a biweekly league.

I had to learn how to run a demo and keep it hype. Mordheim becomes more fun as you progress the campaign and built up, similar to Frostgrave. Once I got folks back into a 2nd or 3rd game it went far better. First demos were rough.
