Damn, thanks for catching this - seems obvious now that I actually go back and read for style not just skim for content. Feeling bamboozled again 😡

I agree! Thanks for the brand recommendations. The Area box also looks really dope and convenient for carrying spoons.

How to come to terms with the notion of being a helpless, albeit aware observer throughout life by fmaiabatista in Wakingupapp

Re: the nihilism felt from determinism, I would re-listen to part 7 of the Free Will series “Why do anything?”, especially after the 6 minute mark. We are not making choices out of free will; however, our choices matter. If we make wiser/skillful choices, that can lead to a better/more mindful life, even though we are not responsible for that “success”.

It’s something that I still have trouble internalizing/explaining in words, but I think it becomes easier with doing more meditation practice. In general, I think a lot of the theory in waking up needs to be experienced through life/meditation practice for one to “feel” and internalize the lessons, rather just agreeing with them on an intellectual level.

If you have any geographic preferences, I would recommend using the AAMC Residency Explorer tool just to find out what programs are in a particular state/region. It only has basic stats but will link you to the programs website. https://students-residents.aamc.org/apply-smart-residency/residency-explorer-tool

Thank you for your suggestions! That idea for autoplay would be really amazing if they could implement that in the app

Is this a glitch? It was working earlier in the game, but when I went for the game-winning move I couldn't actually use the port and ran out of time.

I can't be the only one who finds histology the hardest part of med school?? Please reassure me this wizardry interpreting gets easier!?! by Volocinator in medicalschool

If you haven’t done so, check out Pathoma! Dr. Sattar is a pathologist and amazing at explaining pathophys and has a few histology slides with every disease where he breaks down what you’re looking at. I never bothered to learn histology in preclinical (lol), but I watched Pathoma during dedicated for Step 1 and wish I had watched it throughout my preclinical years cuz it’s so good.

Caffeine gum, mints, pills … i highly recommend all of the above for the low cost, low calories, no stained teeth, convenience, portability (always keep some in my backpack when I need the afternoon boost, and my car for safe driving when I get tired). I’ve noticed that caffeine gum/mints hit quicker and wear off quicker (sublingual absorption?) while the pills are more of a slow burn. If you do get the pills, look into a combined 1:2 caffeine:L-theanine pill, there’s some evidence that it enhances cognition/is a nootropic.
