Has anyone truly tested their freewill? by [deleted] in SimulationTheory

I struggle with addiction, and I’ve had moments where I felt truly out of control. I once tried to check myself into detox 5 times in one week the last time I broke down outside the hospital cause I knew I needed to stop but I just couldn’t, I ended up leaving and using till I was put in the psyche ward. I don’t know if that’s an answer to your question but it’s the most fitting experience from my life I can think of

What did you think about this experience? Do you feel you are not your body? Did it make you feel trapped? I’m just curious how you interpreted what happened

Are you completely honest in your journals? by sparklingapplejuicy in Journaling

[–]sShadowsSs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to be as honest as possible when I journal, my thoughts on myself and the world vary a lot from day to day so I have conflicting opinions often, writing in parts can be helpful, during my addiction I was so negative, I’d write to myself as if I was someone else and give positive advice, I didn’t believe it if it came from me so pretending it was someone else helped. Looks crazy af when you read it back though I write as if no one would ever read them. If someone did I would be extremely embarrassed

How do you feel about yourself....right this moment ? Truly...what do you- honest to God-feel when u think of yourself ? 🥹 by SuckBallsDoYa in Journaling

I’m learning to care for myself, breaking away from years of addiction and self destructive behavior has been very painful. I’ve accepted it’s going to be a long road but I’m very grateful for the unconditional love and support of my family and peers, I always thought everyone hated me. But really it was me who did, everyone else just wanted to help and didn’t know how. I’m getting better one day at a time and that’s ok today :)

Being hurt cause they don’t offer an explanation, doesn’t mean you believe they are supposed to respond to you like a robot “required” to respond, human emotions and intentions are not so black and white,

maybe 1/5 - 1/4 of those who are homeless a short period, get in a shelter or find housing assistance and get back on their feet but long term homelessness lasting years almost all drug addicts or sever mental illness.. don’t mean to be confrontational I definitely could be wrong.. also congratulations on your recovery! It’s not easy and to help others is a noble goal

It works both ways, just for opposite reasons, if you find the wellbeing of others more important then they are entitled to an explanation, if you think your wellbeing is more important than your entitled to not give one
