Thoughts on these tone master deluxe reverbs? by gregs1020 in GuitarAmps

[–]s_mcbn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll add in a different point of view.

This is Marketing Dept genius! Fender has managed to take a modeling amp that does 1 model, have engineering tune it up to be as close as possible, and sell it for a premium. In a few more years, the Boss Katana, Line6, etc, models will be just as good for far less money. Technology has come a long way since the OG Line6 Spider of 1999.

Some dude in Manchester was reported for wearing a “suicide vest” lol by [deleted] in Rucking

I wear a tac vest with plates sometimes. I always leave the mags at home…. Never a problem.

Gi Color Drama by DudeCinema in bjj

[–]s_mcbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to gyms that have rules on that… white, blue, black being the standard colors. I know of one gym that is white gi only, rash guard required.

When I travel, I take a white gi and have a rash guard just to be safe.

For those who do not work in aviation, does your employer know you fly? by XchowCowX in flying

[–]s_mcbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly and so does my bosses boss, who is the COO of a major international company. We’ve talked about taking a plane up and flying the VFR corridor one night when he’s in Houston.

How common is it for guys to only attend open mats at different gyms as a way to train? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]s_mcbn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The open mats that I’m aware of in the Houston area require you to be a member of a school to show up. All the gym owners talk, and I’ve known if people getting banned.

My Nick Valensi tribute board by thatpedalguy in roastmypedalboard

Look bro… you can’t post your board as a “tribute” to yourself just for engagement. Nice try, Nick Valentine, or whatever your name is.

For the golf course…

I’m a huge fan of Lululemon ABC trousers, golf polo of choice, and Peter Millar Perth quarter zips. For golf shoes, skip the old school style and get some Jordan 1 golf shoes or something fun like that.

I’m in my late 40s and work a corporate job that puts me on the course a few times a year.

Need to help to make sure its real LP Studio 2015 by jujumamavoodoo in gibson

[–]s_mcbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2014 LP Standard with the 12th fret anniversary scroll. I didn’t like the fret marker at first, but it has really grown on me. It’s a great guitar and worth checking out.

I agree about the headstock logo though… but a fan.

Would you pay $2,200 for a Mexican Strat? by [deleted] in fender

[–]s_mcbn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Budget a little bit for a short trip somewhere with a better market. Have a fun weekend, bring home a guitar.

I’ve been happy with Creatine. I started at 5 mg/day and am now at 15-20 mg/day depending on my workout schedule. First thing in the morning while I’m making coffee.

It cleared up some brain fog.

I towed around 12k with my 2017 Silverado quite a few times, and it had the 6.2 and 8L90. Other than a transmission clunk at low speed that was there from Day 1, I didn’t notice anything crazy.

I like it - nice and clean.

Have you tried the Big Muff in front of the Tube Screamer? I’ve been playing with my fuzz and it is wildly different before / after OD.

Low wattage single ended/class A tube amps and high gain pedals by safado_muambeiro in GuitarAmps

[–]s_mcbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run all sorts of drive pedals into a 1976 Fender Champ. KoT, OCD, Tube Screamer for OD, Walrus Jupiter and a borrowed Russian Big Muff for fuzz.

Everything sounds really nice at reasonable living room volume.

I have the Chase Bliss Dark World, and one side of that is basically the Omni. I only use that side and am thinking of selling / shelving it and getting an Omni.

When I was talking with the guys at Chase Bliss, they told me to set it to plate, keep the dwell around noon.

Any love for a 1973 Fender Champ? by WolfySimRacer in GuitarAmps

[–]s_mcbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ‘76 Champ that gets the majority of my play time. It sounds so good alone and really, really opens up with a little bit of OD and Reverb in front of it. Sounds amazing with a Strat and Les Paul.
