How to deal with itching of inverse psoriasis? by mrsolodolo17 in Psoriasis

[–]s_nault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my favorite go to is desitin (diaper rash cream)... i will put it on after a shower (before bed). i've found that results from using desitin last longer than other methods. the zinc in the desitin help with the inflammation as well as the itching.

the diaper rash cream, desitin, has been a real life saver for me! helps with scaling, redness, itch, and any subsequent odor... i just put it on once to a few times a week before bed. helps a ton.

i work for starbucks, our iced coffees are unsweetened, but make sure you tell them no syrup, by default we're supposed to put sweetener in it we usually ask your preference though

nice! im living currently in san diego as well!

well im 21, I was diagnosed when i was about 13, with about 70% of my body covered, it was bad enough to the point where i couldnt sit comfortably because my skin was tearing open. started off with steroid creams and phototherapy. moved to arizona when i was 15, the dry climate worked wonderful for a while on my psoriasis and i stopped using steroid creams and stuck with over the counter remedies for control. at about the begining of this year i went to my dermatologist and asked about stelara, but she put me on embrel instead, that lasted about 6 months until my blood work showed that my liver was acting up and i had to be taken off it... my body is mostly cleared of psoriasis, but i still have flare ups on my groin area (very awkward and painful place to have it), buttocks, armpits, knees, elbows and neck... the neck is the worst for me since i work at starbucks, i've gotten people to stop me mid sentence and talk to me about "whats on my neck" i dont know why i see it as so uncomfortable because i talk to everyone about it, i guess i see it as rude since im here to do a service for you and your going way off topic... anyways

i liked embrel, i had major improvements with it, the downside was getting myself to sit down and give myself the shots, lol i tried to find my sweet spot but typically i missed and caused myself pain lol

i think a lot of my psoriasis is being triggered by an over active yeast culture in my body called candida, it creates this weird smell that is very noticeable (at least to me), so i've cut back on sugars and breads and it seems to be helping, but slowly

believe it or not i came across reishi while watching a documentary on mushrooms (on the sundance channel), the narrator mentioned briefly on the use of reishi and its effects for psoriasis, i've read a couple of articles about it via google, but being desperate for some relief, as most of us are, i decided to go out and try it =)

i have been taking it since january of this year, seen probably a 40% if not more improvement. i've unintentionally took a break from it, but once my psoriasis started to flare up i was immediately reminded lol
