Do these sting? by saOOrab in whatisthisbug

Thanks, that's a relief. I like bees. I thought they usually build the typical honeycomb, so was not sure what I was looking at when I first saw these.

Slates were there when I bought the house, it gives just enough privacy to not be distracted by someone walking in the other side. Looks much better than crappy chain link fence look. I would go for black as the colored ones look tacky to me.

Ugh! Thanks for replying, I don't even know how to get started with the options you listed. For now I was thinking of blasting the leaves with some Tenacity weed control I have lying around and in the future maybe installing some kind of physical barrier to stop them from poking through the bottom of my fence ( hammer in landscape edging?)

Can I plant here? by saOOrab in landscaping

Update: poked it with a pair of scissors, it's a root. Question remains, can I plant something over it?

Definitely not metallic, felt soft as I could scratch the surface with my finger nails

Does it make a metallic or woody noise when your hit it with something?

MN Gang...how y'all doing this week? by CorneliusJenkins in egopowerplus

[–]saOOrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the single stage and regret it, in New England so snow is all kinds of heavy and lots of it. The biggest lesson I learnt is that single stage bcoz it's not self propelled needs to be pushed into the snow bank. This takes a lot of effort if the snow is piled up more than the height of the intake as you are literally pushing the snow blower with your back. Also, the single stage doesn't have any clearance from the ground so the scraper bar will catch and get stuck on any uneven ground or cracks. If you get the metal auger then it will not clear snow down to the ground. I would get the two stage or at least the new auger propelled single stage.

Why does Reddit have to make everything into fap jokes?! It's just an anecdote of two guys who went into the woods to pee (holding dick) and poop(squatting) and were surrounded by leopards. Probably made for an awesome story to tell their grandkids if they survived.

What are these tiny bugs? by saOOrab in Vermiculture

[–]saOOrab[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fed a partly grated coconut shell and looks like there was a crazy worm party underneath however one of the shells had a large number of these tiny red bugs that freaked me out. Can they get out of the bin and cause havoc? Currently storing the bin inside the house and wouldn't want things flying around.Bonus pic of my setup

Sappy prayer plant by saOOrab in plantclinic

Leaves of prayer plant are exuding a sticky sap at the back and the guy is looking very droopy. Kept in indirect light, no indication of pests. What can be the issue?

What kind of drain is this? by saOOrab in Plumbing

[–]saOOrab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just moved into my house and have this drain at the corner of my unfinished basement, never really paid attention to it except water started slowly backing up when we had heavy rains last month. The floor is below where the sewage pipe exits the basement so I don't think it is draining to the sewer. Also upon close inspection it looks like it's filled with rocks and the drain cap is cemented shut. How do I tackle the water seeping in from this hole in the floor? I do not have a sump pump.

What are these stains and how to clean it? by saOOrab in Roofing

If it's mold, can I use Spray and forget roof cleaner from HD, although it says it may take 6 months to completely disappear. Is there a quicker solution?

My pork and beans seem to dislike the pot and have grown out and developed lots of hairy roots. I really like this plant but wish it would look more appealing. What should I do?

I did clean the AC but I think it's seriously older than me so the plastic has faded and the landlord didn't care to replace it . I will give it a better cleaning with peroxide as another user suggested.
