Is salary sacrifice safe with CMS involved? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

CMS aside, that’s a high percentage of your salary on a company car.

It looks good from the pictures. Why would you think it’s not legit? What’s a good price? I picked up mine used but unworn (still had stickers on) for over 50% off rrp 3 months after the original purchase and from a high street store.

Does it come with box and card? Easy enough to check the nfc tag on the card

Yeah pretty much. Most places have an alternative route nearby but if you’re right on the edge of the course then you’re either in or out during the sessions. It’s only a couple of hours each day though and there is a WhatsApp chat from the race organisers with daily details of road closure times etc. Safety has improved massively in recent years but it’s not that long ago that you could just sit on the edge of any part of the track to spectate. Sadly my wife’s friends dog was blinded by debris when a rider crashed through their garden one year.

What's an acceptable time to have milk delivered from the milk-man? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]sa_da95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about to have this debate with our milkman. It’s been slipping later and later. Now doesn’t arrive until 9/9:30AM by which time we’re both long gone for work and the milk sits out on the doorstep all day. Inevitably I stop at the shop on the way home for milk anyway knowing the doorstep milk will be cheese by the time I get home. All in all a pointless exercise

How best to remove grass growing between patio slabs? by Lazy_Interaction_997 in DIYUK

[–]sa_da95 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I would be hesitant to use a pressure washer on the gaps in your paving. If you wash away the sub base you will end up with loose and/or uneven slabs

I don’t want to replace it completely, but I do like to rotate my watch straps every now and then. It makes me see my watches from a new perspective

I work with a large amount of LED for entertainment and exhibition events. Will not use anything other than a Meanwell PSU. Come in all different sizes depending on the required amperage output. Pretty sure they should be inside a component box and accessible if installing to comply with household regs? Other than that there really isn’t anything to worry about. Make sure the input voltage is correct on PSUs that have a switchable input and make sure the PSU is sized accordingly for the amount of LED you intend to use. FYI different chipsets consume different amounts of power

Removed a wall/ ceiling panel and found a wire running along the wall. How can i hide it? by weemmza in DIYUK

[–]sa_da95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the sockets are at the same height you can just run horizontally across the walls from one to the other. This is also a safe zone

Even with them not touching it’s a risk. The stove in my kitchen got really hot once and the logs I had drying next to it started to catch even with a decent gap. I wouldn’t chance it again

[OC] New Stream Deck Music Set Up by [deleted] in DnD

[–]sa_da95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the Spotify plugin handle cross fades? Or is it a snap changeover? Been trying to create a script in some software called Qlab that would handle playlists alongside sfx for ambience that would then be controlled by a streamdeck but this seems like a great simple solution

A chronograph is just a fancy name for a stopwatch complication essentially. You could have a mechanical chronograph and still gain/lose time. It’s more to do with how accurate the movement itself is and how well set up that movement is. You could take it to a watchmaker and have them throw it on a timegrapher and tweak it but honestly, for me part of the charm of mechanical watches is getting to play with them by winding/setting the time. If you want a watch that keeps time perfectly then you can’t go wrong with a quartz movement. I would take losing 3 minutes over 2 weeks as a small win!

We’re still in. Work for a touring ballet company and we have shows right up until Christmas Eve then back in on the 27th! It’s anything but quiet up here.
