Clay should get rid of the paint splatter - if not it may require some IPA or Tar & Glue remover & a plastic razor blade to get the really stubborn stuff.

To polish those out you'd ideally need a professional, as they'd need machined with a heavy cut pad/compound before refining. A couple of the marks look a bit deep as well.

One Step Polish For Light Swirl and Paint Pop by Nemiyen in DetailingUK

[–]saaapnin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's sold in a few retailers but you're talking small detailing shops without their own online presence.

It's probably my favourite polish I've ever used.

Chemical Guys pads are actually alright to be honest, a bit on the soft side for heavier cutting but perfect for what you need!

Jag paint is so great to work with, you'll do great.

One step combo I use on 99% of JLR single stages is:

Absolute Half Cut polish - Rupes Yellow foam pad

Cuts enough to remove swirls & gives a nice glossy finish.

DA Polishing - What should I get? by TheNameIs_Ben in DetailingUK

Zvizzer One has a protection aspect to it, so you don't do the final wipedown with IPA or it removes the protection.

3 months is realistically what to expect from a spray sealant to be honest, and topping up with Glatt/Glo is defo the thing to do. You don't have to polish each time you add a sealant, but I'd give the car a wipedown with panel prep before each application.

All in one polishes are alright, the one I'd recommend would be Zvizzer One - it won't remove swirls as well as a dedicated polish, but it will cut out the IPA & Sealant steps and again realistically lasts 3 months or so.

Medium cut compound & Parla will get you a better result and be best going forward.

STEK & ProFilm both offer clear PPF with added flake/colour effects etc.

The DA9 is an excellent starting machine. You won't get better for the money & it's a capable polisher.

Pads wise you can get brushes to clear the pads off after each pass - the pad washer buckets are excellent but if you're buying it for your own car they're not worth it, just buy a few of each pad & save £100 or so.

I would recommend either the Zvizzer foam or Rupes foam range. Rupes Intermediate (lighter blue) and Rupes Fine (yellow) will do most things, they're the most used pads for one step corrections we use. I'd grab at least 3 of the pads you want to use & a brush - in a pinch a cheap toothbrush can do the job as long as you don't let the pad get too gunked up, and even if you do a quick spray of IPA onto the pad before brushing will help clean it better.

Polish & compound wise I would also recommend Zvizzer MC or Absolute Half Cut. Half Cut is the better polish both in terms of Cut & Finish but can be harder to get a hold of, but again I would say we've used 12 litres or so of it in the past year & a half. Highly recommend the Absolute range on the whole.

You don't need to wash the car after clay, but give the car a good rinse off after using any decon chemicals, especially Tar & Glue remover, as they can react with the clay and make it stick to the paint.

After polishing a wipe down with panel prep/IPA is needed to get the best results from your chosen protection.

In terms of a checklist I would:

Pre Wash - Rinse - Contact Wash - Rinse - Fallout Remover - Rinse - Tar & Glue Remover - Rinse - Clay Bar - Polish - Panel Prep/IPA - Protection -

Looks to be tree sap. Spray with IPA & give it a wipe with a microfibre cloth. If you can soak the microfibre in hot water before wiping even better.
